Punting average can also be made or broken by the KOS team if they stop/allow long returns.

Punting average does not take returns into account.

Then how else could I have some punts over 50 yards (and all of them at least over 40-45 for a game) and end up with a 39.something average?
It would seem to me that it is NET punt yards and not GROSS yards.

It's because of touchbacks. They take 20 yards off those.

If returns counted in the punting average, you could theoretically see one game average in the minus if the team had one punt in the game, let's say for 40 yards, and it got returned for a, let's say, 65 yds TD.


Take, for example, your game against Vanuatu. You had 8 punts in that game: 48, 46, 36.5, 35, 26, 45, 42 and 48. Now the 36.5 one was a touchback, so it's actually calulated as 16.5. Add those numbers up and divide by 8 and you'll get your average for that game: 38.3

hey i just want to make a case for my rb goober he has over 2200 yards and he is playing with a oline that level wise is not that high and i have mix matched oline playing out of position for some spots.i hope he gets voted into the pro bowl he really deserves it and is a great rb

Well, if we're lobbying for players, I'll give my lobbying for Throckmorton P Gildersleeve a rest. This season, he doesn't deserve the notoriety. However, I'm gonna push for my DE, LaMont Cranston. He doesn't have the gaudy sack numbers that many of the DEs in the league have, but that comes in part from playing the strong side, though he has come on with them of late.

Also, playing on the strong side, he has an impressive number of TFLs. Sprinkle in a few forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, and while I wouldn't expect to be first-team, I think he is worthy of a place in the discussion.

How do you think I feel? Trying to battle for the damn sack title and I am a handful of tackles from 100..I dunno which I like better.

sorry guys if im not supposed to lobby for a player,i just really feel he should make it.also my rb has taken away from his stats as my own guy has almost a 1000 yards and a bunch of tds.if i wasnt supposed to lobby im sorry.
