(Yes Mr. Gore, we had destructive hurricanes in the 1800s too).

Wow that was dumb. all al gore said was, that the rise in temp is causing hurricanes to happen MORE OFTEN.

Science.... learn it.

I'm not really trying to start a global warming debate here but what Mr. Gore said was in fact that the Hurricanes we were having were stronger and more destructive as a result of Man induced global warming. There's nothing really scientific about that statement. It's an opinion which can't be backed up. Science does not consist of building incomplete computer models based on 20 to 30 years of 'historical' data and then using that to project future events.

The science is real and is backed up. Higher global air temps = higher global sea temps. Which is a conductor for hurricanes. Warm seas waters is the starting point for hurricanes.

Actually, higher global air temps has not equaled higher global sea temps though you are correct, according to the model it was supposed to.

Even if it did, you'd still have to show that man is causing it and that this isn't just a regular cycle which has been repeated for thousands and millions of years. That's the tricky part. But declaring this is a 'scientific fact' which can not be denied is not science. None of this has been subjected to the scientific method.

Seriously, it just seems to me that if you were going to build a computer model to show why temperatures increased over a given, and extremely short, period of time geologically speaking, you would at least factor in solar activity.

When I first saw the name Indianola, I thought it was named for Indianola, Iowa which is world famous for its hot air balloon races, and since Buddy is full of hot air it seemed to be an appropriate fit.

Wow, sounds like someone struck a nerve.

Get off the science kick because nothing about science is concrete. Its just a highly educated opinion of what it could be.

Science is not concrete ? Huh ?

I mean, I don't buy what Mr. Gore is selling either, but don't tell me you're one of those who think god just creates hurricanes from the heavens to destroy homes of those who cheated on their wives or something ?

(EDIT : Oh wait, you just meant Al Gore's science.)

STOP.

These things do not mix. Trust me now, on the internets never mix politics and forums, ever. It ends just like the Special Olympics every time.
