Three games left and it is still up in the air.

Bow Street Runners 8-5; 0 wins for 8-8; 0 games out of 8th
Remaining -> Ikk Fu <L>, Lyon <?>, Dublin <?>
Conclusion: All but garunteed at least ending 8th.

Lyon Breakers 6-7; 2 wins for 8-8; 2 games out of 8th
Remaining -> Southriding <L>, Bow Street <?>, Walthamstow <?>
Conclusion: Still down 2 games with 3 remaining. A win here would help them a lot but it is very unlikely they will get past Southriding.

Cork City Wildcats 6-7; 2 wins for 8-8; 2 games out of 8th
Remaining -> Marseille <?>, Ikk Fu <L>, The Vatican <?>
Conclusion: One of two game they have a chance of winning. A win here will keep them in the running. (Plus lock Bow Street in at 7th...Go Wildcats!!!)

Marseille Argonauts 7-6; 1 win for 8-8; 0 games out of 8th
Remaining -> Cork City <?>, Spaniard <W>, Buffalo<?>
Conclusion: The loss to Bow Street puts them on unstable footing. However, with a better final schedule shouldn't have any problem at least solidifying 8th, if not reclaiming 7th.

Prediction: Bow Street and Marseille are 7th and 8th, but still in the air as to which order. Cork and Lyon could also fall either way with 9th and 10th. Either Cork or Lyon could fight their way into 8th with a series of wins combined with losses from the higher teams. No significant changes from last round except that Bow Street made a strong play towards 7th, but it isn't garunteed yet.

I'm going to depart from my normal patterns and look at the final round from a scenario standpoint.

Here are the games that matter to the bottom half:

Glasgow (9-6) vs. Tranmere; advantage Tranmere
Bow Street (9-6) vs. Dublin; even, very small advantage Dublin

Glasgow and Bow Street are both garunteed playoff spots, but Bow Street has a chance to move up one more slot. If Glasgow loses and Bow Street gets the win, there is a chance to slide up into the 6th seed. Otherwise, Glasgow keeps 6th and Bow Street keeps 7th.

Marseille (8-7) vs. Buffalo; advantage Buffalo
Cork City (7-8) vs. The Vatican; Close, very small advantage Vatican

It's do or die time for the Wildcats. Given Marseille's decrease in effectiveness I would say that they are long shots against a stronger Buffalo. A win by Cork City would put them at a tie at 8-8. As Cork City beat Marseille this season, that would give them the tiebreaker. This is a game that they can win, but not one that they will win. It is going to come down to better preperation, planning, and strategy.

What I'm saying is that on paper the Paladins have a very small advantage; namely a 39 to your 36 in rushing, and a green 39 rush defense to your yellow 39 rush defense. I have neither the time nor the interest to look at records or play by plays or anything else, so that is as in depth as I am going to go.

As I stated, your game is going to come down to who is better prepared. The team that wins will be the one who can exploit the others weaknesses, and correctly predicts the opponents strategies.

...

Okay rereading what I wrote I realized which sentence was poorly written. What I was trying to say and wrote too fast is this:

This is a game that they can win, but not one that is certain that they will win. Amazing what happens when you forget a couple words.

I give you guys marginally less than 50% of winning, maybe as little as 40% chance if you don't plan well. In any case I think the game will be decided by no more than a touchdown, regardless of who wins.

Thanks, Mav! It was a hell of a ride, but we pulled it out. After fighting uphill through 3 seasons, the Wildcats are in the playoffs!

Belfast, we're so elated that we'll hardly even notice the ass-raping you perform on us in the first game.

We considered you the most dangerous team we could meet in the first round. This will be anything but an ass-raping.. that is for sure.
