Sadness. Prague has had some strogn wins against some tough teams and it only gets us to ten?
Oh well. Guess we will just have to keep on winning...

ya, you gotta look at where you started lol. Remember, it's not only based on what you do, but the teams ahead of you as well.
But don't worry, you keep winning and you'll keep moving up. You guys are doing a helluva job.

Based on SOS, I'm hoping we get to the #2 spot in the next few weeks. Thanks Tega.

So last week we were at #11. We won. Our last four is 4-0 vs. all strong teams. We rise up one space to #10. The two teamsa head of us, in LHH and the Bears both lost last week. So if we are basing it on last four how does that work?
I know its just a formula. But does your formula have modifiers in it for your top teams? When we were #11 last week being 4-0 I figured it was because of Orange Blood being our first win in the string. We just knocked our worst win off with the second best psosible win.
What exactly needs to be done? The math doesnt make sense.

The teams above you, as it stands will very likely need to loose for you to continue climbing.

well, where do you feel you should be? Cause, I'll just put ya there next week. How's that?
That math does make sense. You're thinking in too narrow of terms. Sure you won, and you moved up, and rightfully so. However, that win, coupled with Orange blood falling off, wasn't enough to just boost you well ahead of 5 other teams, who subsequently, started with a higher ranking number than you before yesterday's games. 2 teams ahead of you lost, and they moved down. Again, your win, didn't cover the total amount of points from the week previous between your team and the teams that took hits this week from losses. It brought them closer, but didn't surpass it. Tough when they are 7-1 and 6-2 teams still ahead of you.
And you did lose, what, your first 3 games of the season? That still is weighted overall, just not as much as your last 4 games.
Look, your 5-3 and you started out the season 1-3. You created a big hole for yourself, from a power ranking standpoint, immediately. Infact, I'll just give u the numbers:
Prague
Week 4 - -27.62 (22ND)
Week 5 - -19.68 (20TH)
Week 6 - -10.88 (14TH)
Week 7 - 5.27 (11TH)
Week 8 - 5.34 (10TH)
The ranking system is the same that Moontayle has used for the past 2 seasons. Nothing has changed.
If you feel slighted i'm sorry, not much I can do there for you.
But look at that climb over the past 5 weeks. That's impressive as hell. And you'll continue to climb a little if you keep winning. BUT, all those 8-0, 7-1 and 6-2 teams ahead of you will have to lose for you to get much higher.

Well I guess I was under the impression that you only, or mostly, weighted the last four. If you count the entire year then I guess that is fair.
I was really just curious how the math was working out. If you were only counting last four I saw us at least in the top six. If we count the entire season though... I wont complain with where we are. Even though our biggest loss, was too the #2 team, and it was in over time.
I guess the mistake was on my part. I misunderstood what was going into the rankings. Either way, I look forward to watching Prague continue to climb week after week.

that makes no sense with hatcreek at 19 and the team with the same record who we just beat(chrenobyl radionuclides)is at 15. we are both 4-4 and out of their 4 wins no team is better than 3-5 and they were the best team we beat at 4-4. it would just make too much sense for you to put us ahead of them

Obviously it makes sense... stop your bitch'n or get ur finger out of your ass and work out a better formula. Tega does a crackin job, with a formula that has been used in the league since Season 2.
Anyway, why the hell would you care about being 15th or 19th?? You're still poo either way!
lol

I was not trying to turn this into a bash thread on the power rankings. Its great that they are done, dont get me wrong. But when there is no formula to go by questions are going to come up as to why some people are rated the way they are.

Just because a formula has been used for a while doesnt make it correct though.
