I was gonna keep quiet, but I've got to come to the defense of my teammate (Sizz)...
The next time anyone decides to jump on his case, take a look at his first post. First, he says he is SURPRISED by how good both our team and Gold Coast are doing. Not "our team is hot shit," or "these AAA teams suck ass." And he's surprised because this is a very strong league, which as a team we've recognized since day one.
Second, he said WOULDN'T IT BE COOL if both our teams made it to the Pros together. Not "we'll definitely be there because we're kick-ass and these other teams are made of junior high sexually frustrated homos." Let me explain why it would be cool...
You can't really tell by this season, but last season AA#1 was highly competitive. Each conference had no less than 5 teams that looked like legitimate title contenders, and they all showed it through the season. Though our team went undefeated, we were the least respected of the teams in the Lion conference, hearing crap about how we had a weak schedule, and "wait till you play a tough team." Well, we beat every "tough team" and here we are. On the other side, Gold Coast got even less respect than we did, and had the task of dealing with 2 "unbeatable" teams just to make it to the title game. Though they weren't even talked about when it came to potential title winners, there they were in the big game. The score doesn't completely tell it- that game was the most exciting game I had seen on GLB ever. The game had the feel of Patriots-Giants and delivered, though we were able to hold off their last drive. In the process, our teams became linked forever with what we accomplished, and we developed a good sense of respect for each other.
It would be cool if we both went to pros even if we were 3-3 right now, 2-4, or 0-6. Fuck, it would be cool if Jessica Alba and Megan Fox showed up at my house for a threesome- saying that doesn't mean I think it's going to happen or that it should happen. While I can't say I agree 100% with the way Sizz responded, no one had any cause to be jumping down his ass for saying what he thought would be cool.
