The second best game (though maybe more exciting on the field) will be the Buzzards vs. the Red Bulls. The Red Bulls have already dismantled one undefeated team, and they have a chance to get another one. The Buzzards, on the other hand, get to prove to whatever doubters exist that they are for real (fwiw, I think they're for real regardless of the outcome).

On the other end of the spectrum, the winner of the Bucks/SHTGs game will finally move into the win column (I'm a bit surprised that neither one has a win yet).

Your bound to get us sooner or later. I'm hoping it's later, maybe 5 or 6 seasons from now. These kind of games provide some serious stress in that half hour leading up to game time.

...and about a half a day after the game for the losing team.

Rip,

That's why I like weekend morning (for me) games, I can sleep in, wake up and watch, without the pre-game stress (or the question of whether it's worth clicking on a player's game log 30 minutes earlier to watch, knowing that I'll be spoiled by the score before I can see the play-by-play). I may have stress dreams, though. . .

lol for me, i can't sit there and do that 'watch game' thing and have the play by play go down one by one. Drives me crazy, i need to know the score beforehand.

I actually click on the first play, and then watch the replays all the way through. Granted, I watch more leisurely against the bad teams. No doubt tomorrow, I'll be hitting next play as fast as humanly possible (while potentially pounding my table in anguish/dismay after every third play).

I wish I could do what you do, Turbo, but I started doing it this way, and it's become almost a superstition. . . though if we lose tomorrow, maybe I can break that habit (hey, look. . .a silver lining).

I'm retired so every morning is the weekend to me. We all have our superstitions. I have to look at the players on my roster. If my defense is drained I get a bad feeling in my stomach. If my offense is drained I feel more confident about clicking on the score.

I have to see the score before watching the game. I have to get my frame of mind right before watching a loss so I don't blow a gasket. Wins I hurry to the stats.

Rip,

Our game was much closer than the scoreline would suggest (we got a few lucky breaks) and I'm pretty confident that we'll meet again this season (though I'm not so confident about the outcome of that game). At least we got one back on you, now I just hope we can get a second one when it counts.

Hats off to you guys. I think that kick return early played a big part in things. I also think I got out coached. I was a bit to aggressive on defense against some of your formations.

Your right though the stats really surprised me. When I first saw the score I was looking for the stats to be every bit as lopsided.

I think chances are pretty good that we see each other again in post season. Good luck to you guys rest of the way.

Thanks, Rip. The kick return was big (when I saw your first drive, I was a bit terrified, the return helped that), as was the fumble near our goalline at the beginning of the second quarter.

Yeah the fumble was crushing. I think it deflated our guys morale. If we punch it in there it's a different game. We didn't though so we have to take our whipping and learn from it.

I think you're right. The game really was much closer than the score would otherwise indicate, and there were just a few plays that wound up making all the difference.

It'll be interesting to see what happens for us the next three weeks (Tsunamis, Buzzards, Hellfighters), as all of those games will be tough and I can't imagine that we'll continue to get the breaks that we got today.
