Thanks, we all put in a lot of hard work on the team.

One thing kind of odd... Per your rankings, Polk High has had the second easiest schedule.... yet has the second easiest remaining schedule. On the other hand, Cologne has had the easiest schedule and has the toughest remaning schedule, which makes more sense.

I'll look at it and see what I find. My only thought right now is that the SOS rankings do consider the GLB ratings of the teams at the time they are played, but the upcoming only considers the most recent rating. So, for example, if Polk plays a team when they have a 30 rating, and that team then moves up to a 33 rating, it will project as a more difficult opponent for the rest of the league than it was at the time Polk played them. I don't know if that is the cause, just an initial thought.

EDIT:
Okay, I looked at it. There was a minor calculation error, but it didn't change much in Zeta. It looks as though when The Shady McCrackers GLB rating changed from 33 to 36, it did affect Polk HIgh, but I think the bigger reason is just the lack of data (the SOS rankings don't consider scrimmage games). I think the past SOS ranking is the one that is particularly not reflective of the actual difficulty of Polk High's schedule. Specifically, this early in the season, the weights given to the win percentage of Polk High's opponents' opponents is dragging Polk High down (for example, had Polk High's opponents opponents won just one more game, Polk High would move up 5 spots in the past SOS ranking). Of all the factors, that is the one that should even out the most quickly between teams, so I think it should start to make more sense with a couple of more games played, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Makes sense to me; thanks for the explanation.

This is what happens when you play the worst team. Tilburg wins 82-0, and drops from 2nd to 6th in the power rankings. Where's the love???

Like this more than the others, very objective, maybe we can develop our own BCS rankings lol. Add in the coaches poll and have it worth a small amount.

BTW I hate the BCS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man. We have like our own BCS system now.

We got the computer rankings (Iguazu), the coaches poll (NYUfresh), and the AP writer's poll (Bilal). Now we need someone to compile them together and weight them to come up with the SEASON 4 WESTERN EUROPE A6 BCS BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GOALLINE BLITZ POWER RANKINGS POLL FOR THE PAPAJOHNS.COM BOWL SPONSORED BY MEINEKE CAR CARE BOWL.

not it.

Ha, sorry man. Did it to increase comedic value. But yeah, I'm from southern California... a UCLA Bruin alum. Are you a Tennessee (Volunteer) guy? If so........... BRING IT WE GON TAKE YOU DOWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNN. This is a NEU era for the Bruins and we are going to CHOW down on all our competitors!

Or something a lot less cheesy.

You can start your new era after Tennessee takes you down. I lived in Palm Desert for a long time. My father is still there. Never was a Bruin fan though. Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. I bleed orange!

Looks good to me. Surprised to see Polk and Rome with the softest schedules from this point on, but we've both got ridiculous stretches near the end of the season:

Polk High:
08/22/2008 Rome Poison
08/24/2008 at Tilburg Lightning
08/26/2008 Normandy Invasion
08/28/2008 at Dublin Shamrocks

Rome:
08/22/2008 at Polk High Panthers
08/24/2008 at Normandy Invasion
(omitting Siena on 8/26/08)
08/28/2008 at Mannheim Jaguars
08/30/2008 EASTWICK SAVAGES

I can totally see both teams going 0-4 or 4-0 during this stretch.
