maybe 2601 would've been better...it's okay though, we don't need a write up.

Nicely done Cerneo. I used to do writeups like this in a few OOTP leagues I was in and they take forever to do. Major props.

You play OOTP too? That's how the bulk of our team knows each other (well, originally from Soxtalk, but I digress), I run a league on 6.5 and Chimpy, TruCarl and SF1 all participate as well.

I used to play all the time. I remember the good old days from OOTP 4,5,6 (6.5). The game had complexity but was still very simple to do what you wanted. As the game progressed they tried to add too much stuff to make it a bit more realistic, but forgot to play test for functionality and fun factor.

That sounds familiar. . . .

Haha, GLB is way better in this regard. Most of the changes the GLB does is making the game more realistic and cutting out abuse.

I'd tend to agree with you. I think what bothers some people is that you will be doing things one way and then it gets changed or nerfed.

I know it aggravates some, but the changes are cutting out the abuse. Also making it more realistic. A guy who has 85 speed and everything else meager should be a track star. However, if you then give him the ability to move laterally and catch passes then he becomes a good football player. That's what most of the build changes are all about.

Agree. And I'm glad we didn't go crazy with our builds. We tended to keep them pretty balanced and it may pay off for us this season.

Speed still kills as it should.

What is this abuse you speak of? People building their players the way they want instead of the way you want them to?

You seem to be high on realism but appear to have no problem with power backs now routinely running over people for 150+ yards a game. Few rb's have ever run for 2000+ yards a season and this league alone should have several.

The tackling changes were as poorly thought out as the new offensive ai that doesn't allow you to set formations.

Well I'm damn sure not going to sit on my ass and not try to win regardless of what I may think about what Bort is doing every off-season.

Do I necessarily think it's right? No. But am I gonna sit and cry about it and refuse to adapt? Hell no.

Who is refusing to adapt?
Pointing out how stupid something is does not mean you arent going to over come it.

I suspect the most disappointed teams this season will be the ones that pass excessively and continue to ignore the run game, and teams that have built themselves more balanced will see the majority of the success. Secondary skills are becoming increasingly more important....a lot of player builds top heavy in critical skills now have work to do because balanced builds have an advantage.

good for us

I think we're arguing about something we agree on Buddy.

I absolutely agree that even if something is not a good system does NOT mean that you should just refuse to adapt to it.
