Lol...SCRIMMAGE games.
And that still doesn't show anything because it's all about matchups. You don't automatically call one team the best because they won a week 1 game do you?

I know that we weren't doing any experimentation with the new AI settings. We were focused on winning these ballgames. Based on the results of these uber-important scrimmages I have reached a conclusion.
The East has a commanding lead.
I hereby declare that the loser of the League Championship Game will not be called #2 or runner-up. We will call them Eastern Conference Champions - just like we should have for the past two seasons.
We've paid tribute. Can we start jockeying for playoff position now?

And we'll call the losers of the Western Conference game the Lincoln Navigators. I like the consistency in this league. It's comforting.

As was stated earlier, the last 2 champions have come out of where?
The side that didn't have to play the toughest competition in the playoffs.

well, the top teams in the west can defeat the top teams in the east, but then the east wins for everything below that.
the east just has like... lots of teams that are the same skill level, while the west is dominated by a couple of teams and the rest just don't do as good

All these tweaks, changes, plans...and this beta still allows ridiculous results like that.
If they did the same thing this game as they did against us (193-0), they never ran an offense. They just punted on first down everytime.

Really...wonder why The West keeps winning the majority of the games week 16 every season.
heads up, The west is beating the east in the games that matter.

I do believe the east has won the head to head match up in week 16 the last 2 seasons. Could be wrong, but I think that is the case.

West won it narrowly in Season 2 and the East won it in Season 3 but the sample size is SOOO small that any "statistics" used for the discussion simply aren't intellectually honest.
Just to clarify my position -- I don't give a rat's ass if the East is better. Our only concern is being the best team out of the 16 teams assigned to our conference (which happens to be the West).
The winner of the inferior conference doesn't get a conditional promotion or a black stripe placed through their trophy icon.

That's too bad, when you finally win it I think it'd look good with a stripe.

Actually, they threw the ball every down they had it, except on 4th downs when they punted. Granted, they completed more pass to Windsor (10) than they did to their own team (7), but they did still throw the ball 81 times.
They did, however, run a goal-line defense for most (if not all) of the game. Which is not a particularly good strategy. Although you'd think that when you play goal-line D you'd be able to stop the run, but I guess that's the problem with level 1 cpu guys....
You'd think that Bort could make the CPU guys a little bit better so this isn't such a problem....
Thanks,
