Plan on adding more through out the season

If you play it smart add them as early as you can. the return on investment goes down for every home game you wait. (Or more simply the cost is the same whether you build them before game 1 or after game 16, the revenues are dependent on when you build.)

Ain't it better to save the money for an offseason expansion ? Expansion's ROI is higher, no ?

It is higher in season 1 (construction) only. What you lose in season 2 (post construction) and forward is the ticket sales from those seats and the accompanying concession sales from the additional people. Yes it costs you cash the year you expand the seats, but it pays for itself in full and more in the subsequent season.

ticket sales + concession sales < cost of construction

So I still think it's better to save the cash for offseason expansion.

Edited...

that may be true but you have already wasted two offseasons without building sections on the stadium. If you continue this way you will not be able to afford to be competitive in the long run. (In other words how many of your players can you afford to give 200K bonuses for level 24 equipment upgrades?)

The concession money you make is worth the time to pay out for new sections. Last season I made around $250,000 / game in concessions. This year I'm making around $450,000 / game in concessions.

I can easily afford my teams salary and actually make money each time I have a home game. If only I figured out that building out level 1 is much more important than those luxury suites in the second story.

He speaks truth...

I am pulling in about 600K per home game in concessions (on top of 18+ million in ticket sales)

Yes it cost me some up front but it is not only worth it, it is necessary to be able to compete for talent. You NEED those seats to be able to afford higher priced players and their equipment upgrade costs. (Wait until we start having some level 32's. There equipment is gonna run you 800K per player. I for one will be prepared for that. Will you?

I know it's good to build a bigger stadium to make more money.

My only problem is when you say it's better to build new seats than saving the money to build new sections.

Last offseason, we missed building new sections in part because we had spent money on seats during the season.

It is more profitable to spend your profits in new sections (next offseason).

I reckon it is worth it to build seats. With my team which i aquired at the start of this season, for example, i built 2000 seats at the start of the season at a cost of $2m. At a cost of $65 per ticket i will get $1.04m back in ticket sales alone for those extra 2000 seats for my 8 regular season home games. Add to that an increase of nearly $50,000 in concessions for every home game and thats another $400,000. So that`s a total of $1.404 i`ve got back from those seats during the regular season, meaning those 2000 seats have only cost me $600,000, which is a lot cheaper per seat than the price of a section.

Add to that fact then that if you manage to get a home playoff game those 2000 seats are likely to bring you anything up to a further $400,000 through ticket sales and concessions and their cost is actually down to $200,000. If you get 2 home playoff games then you`re actually in profit for the season off those seats as well as ending up with 2000 extra. That seems like good business to me...

You are right in one sense, but there needs to be a balance of both expansion and construction. If all your existing sections are already full of seats through expansion, but you cannot expand because you didn't set aside any money for construction, where will the expansion come from during the next season?
