Just buy some flex and create a new guy or wait until day 0 and make a lineman or kicker when you get the free 100 flex.

Okay, a 12 season contract is complete bs and if this owner had any moral fiber at all he would not hold you to it. I don't agree with calling out other people on the boards and all and I can completely understand an owner wanting to hold a player to a reasonable contract because that is their right but this one is completely absurd, that is not a fair signing by any standard and to expect a player to adhere to it is fricking crazy.

You should be traded, or at worst released. What does the owner intend to do, keep an unhappy player on the team for 9 more seasons? That's just stupid, get what you can for him now instead of holding him to a silly contract where he won't even contribute to your team....

Meh, I told this guy to find a reasonable trade offer and I would trade him. The only trade offer I received was some trade offer from a team that wanted to give me a lower level QB and wanted me to pay them cash to get rid of him, so, I think its understandable why I rejected that. I'm not going to pay to get rid of him AND take on a player I don't want.

Other than that, I have received no trade offers for him, but I sure have received a lot of spam on my aim demanding a release before this guy ever even bothered to look for a trade.

So, on the premise of the fact that he decided to spam my aim box demanding a release and started hijacking my threads around the game bad mouthing me before he ever even tried to find a trade for himself, I'm definately not going to release him, he will be traded whenever I get a reasonable offer for him. Though honestly, I think the best situation for him will be a formerly level capped league that is now uncapped.

Reminder that this is the same QB that wanted to be put on the HB depth chart as well.

Good agents should not bitch about being held to the contracts they signed for their players.

Good owners should find a solution for these situations that benefit both team and player.

This shouldnt be figured out in public.

Exactly.

Unfortunately, Can't do much about it when a disgruntled player starts spamming forums with half a story.

You are now blocked from the team forum and removed from the depth chart to rot.

Dude, on Canberra you've got to boost to keep up. Actually I'm sure it's like that throughout all pro leagues. Cortland used to be light years ahead of me in levels, now I'm 3 above him. Boost or perish, it's simple.

Agreed. Boosting isn't optional if you want to start for a competitive Pro team.

+1

Boosting is more optional IF you are a backup, but starters in the Pro Leagues this many seasons in will be replaced by others passing them if they don't boost.

Even trading him is kind of a crappy thing to do because he's still going to be stuck with that contract on whatever team he's traded to. He is going to have no control over where his player plays for over a year real-life time, that's just crazy.

He has handled this in a mind-numbingly moronic and immature way, but he has a legitimate right to complain here. The contract is absurd, you know it's absurd, and you have the power to be the bigger man and fix it by releasing him from it. Whatever he's done it can't be as bad as making someone play out a 12 season contract....That's like....mild inconvenience and annoyance from forum trashing/AIM spam versus completely RUINING the game for someone for an entire year. Yeah, he never should have signed the contract, but he was a noobie. Noobies do stupid things because they don't understand the game yet, for someone who obviously does understand the game like yourself, holding a person to that mistake against their will is pretty low IMO. It's not like he even has a good build or any real value for your team since he doesn't boost.

I'm probably not making too many friends in our new league by voicing my opinion on this, but I just don't agree with the whole "You shouldn't have signed the contract, live with it" thing, at least not for those ludicrous contracts some people mistakenly signed just as the game was starting up.
