Berlin - Drunken
This is an interesting game as Drunken was the team this season, closest to actually beating Berlin.
The question is if they can play as well again.
Berlin is still favourites though, but this can get interesting.

Interesting
But in all seriousness we are going to annihilate them. With the most comprehensive gameplan ever constructed, they dont stand a chance.

Well, with the exception of one break-out play, that was a fun, close game.

I would rather it had ended scored the other way around (Duh!), but it was an actual battle through the entire clock.

The conference quarter final is over, and unlike last season, we got few surprises.

Alpha:

Frankfurt - Spaniard
Frankfurt were the big favourites and not surprisingly opened up with a TD.
However they couldn't follow up and first allowed a FG before slipping up etirely giving a huge TD to Spaniards.
As the second quarter started, we got a 10 minutes pass party as both teams threw the ball.
Frankfurt managed another TD from this, but Spaniard got right back with 2 FG of their own, actually leading 15-14 at half time.
3rd quarter saw Frankfurt taking the lead again after an interception and a nice pass.
Neither team seemed able to do much with the ball, though Spaniard managed a FG.
As the 4th quarter came, Frankfurt scored their 4th TD, and it was all over for Spaniard who just hadn't more to give.
Frankfurt also made a FG while controlling in their victory.

Belfast - Lyon
It was a difficult game for both teams, as neither could get anywhere early on.
As the second quarter started, Lyon made an interception on Belfast's half, but could only manage to gain a FG from it.
Neither team still could get the ball far, but Belfast started getting the upper hand and finally got to Lyon's redzone, just for it to be intercepted in the endzone.
But lady luck is fickle, and right after Belfast intercepted it back, and this time they could score their TD.
Lyon was under heavy pressure now, and also had to give up a FG before the half ended, meaning Belfast was leading 10-3
In the first play of the second half, Lyon threw a good pass, having Belfasts defenders stumble over eachother, to take the lead again with a nice TD.
But Belfast's offense was deadly, forcing Lyon backwards and only heroic effort from their defense, stopped Belfast 1 yard away from the endzone, forcing them to a FG.
However Belfast's defense were not equally good, as they yet again allowed a long pass to become a TD for Lyon.
But Belfast came back and with 2 FG were in the lead again.
With 13 seconds left in the game, Lyon had to take a chance and attempted a 56,5 yard FG.
Astonishingly they made it.
So Lyon won the game thanks to their amazing "i kick over 50 yard" kicker.

Bow Street - IKK Fu
IKK Fu had become much stronger since we last met, however it started really badly for them, as Bow Streets very good KR scored a TD allready on the kickoff.
Bow Street was the one pressuring, but couldn't get more than a FG.
IKK Fu offense, started performing better as the 2nd quarter began, but still couldn't get close enough and had to do a FG.
Bow Street dominated completly and just marched down to score another TD, and abit stupidly used up all the time instead of making another FG before halftime.
Still Bow Street had a solid lead with 17-3
The third quarter saw IKK Fu getting into the game, but they got stopped and had to make a FG.
Bow Street struck back again and scored another TD, making it really hard for IKK Fu to come back.
They did manage to score a TD before the 4th quarter started.
Neither team seemed able to do much before the final minutes where Bow Street first scored a FG, and IKK Fu got a consolation TD.
Bow Street took a comfortable victory, much easier than i thought it would be really.

Glasgow - Marseille
It was a close game where neither team managed to get far enough to even have a chance to score a TD.
Glasgow took an early lead with two FG, but after that it went until last minutes of the first half before first Marseille then glasgow scored a FG, meaning Glasgow lead 9-3 after the first half.
As the second half started, Marseille just weren't strong enough, and glasgow continued to score another FG, before finally getting that TD and more or less decided the game.
Also here there were some action at end of game, with Glasgow first scoring a FG, then Marseille a consoliation TD.
Still Glasgow wins quite easily.

Zeta:

Berlin - Drunken
Unlike last time they met, Drunken could just not stand against Berlin.
With a 23-0 lead at halftime it was practically over right there.
So Berlin is cruising further into the playoffs.

Buffalo - Shamrocks
Buffalo opened hard with a long pass TD immedeatly after kickoff.
Shamrocks came back with a FG, but couldn't stop Buffalo from doing the same.
The game slowed down abit after that, and Shamrocks again had to kick a FG, which they missed.
Buffalo were now pushing hard, but a fumble stopped their chances for another TD, and they had to settle for a FG.
Buffalo lead 13-3 by halftime, and it weren't looking good for Shamrocks.
Second half started with another FG for Buffalo.
Shamrocks tried their best to get back into the game, but got stopped every time, and they had to settle for another FG.
And when Buffalo managed another TD at the end of the 3rd quarter, it was over.
Still Shamrocks managed to get a tD, before Buffalo ended the game with another FG.
Easy game for Buffalo who goes on to the semi-final.

Rome - Vatican
It was a real hard defensive game, where Vatican started best scoring a FG.
Neither team seemed able to get the ball very far, before the end of the half, when Rome managed to score a TD, leading only 7-3 by halftime.
The second half continued as the first, and it wasn't until 4th quarter things started to happen.
Rome got stopped close to the endzone and had to make a FG.
Vatican struck right back with a FG of their own.
Vatican stopped Rome once, but not managing better themself, couldn't stopped Rome a second time from scoring another FG.
Vatican were desperate for a TD to tie the game and with their best offense the whole day, got to Rome's 5 yard line for the games last play.
Rome's defense did a good job covering though, and so the QB wasted the play by throwing to their HB.
Rome wins this defensive struggle, but it was close.

London - Kilkenny
It was a hard game between two good teams as neither got very far with their offense.
London did best though, as a miss in Kilkennys defense, allowed them to do a 79 yard TD.
Later they also scored a FG, leading 10-0 after the first half.
The second half continued as the first, with neither team able to do much.
London scored another FG but that seemed to be it.
Until London's QB threw an interception deep in their own half.
Kilkenny didn't have to be asked twice, and scored a TD.
But London struck back with another FG, and as Kilkenny still couldn't get through Londons defense, they took the victory.
So London wins with an impressive defense who held Kilkenny away most of the game.

It was close the whole way. You can't fault them for having a strong kicker, nor can you fault them for getting their WRs behind your defense on the 2 long TDs. It was a solid game played by both sides.

I don't blame them. Nor do I really blame anyone for saying it was a great game. For Lyon supporters and neutrals it was a great game. For the owner of the Belfast Commandos it's total shit. It's frustrating and painful.
And right at the moment I'm far too pissed off to be gracious to anyone.....Lyon never should have been any where near winning that game!!!

Wow, good defensive effort on both sides in the Rome vs Vatican tussle. Low scoring affair for sure. Good game Paladins! Good luck next season.

I know they have to play for a full 60 minutes but....Lyon had 250 yds offense. 100 yds of that was on two plays. Two f'ing plays!! And two fgs over 50yds. The play where the whole Belfast secondary all run into each other is just a joke really!! Well done Lyon because, as the saying goes, you make your own luck...but boy that was lucky!!
