If I were to care about this, I would have to say that Stephen Cross of the Surabaya Fighting Sura (
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=157647) carries his offense--plain and simple. If he were not part of the team, Roland of Gilead would not even be close to leading the league in TDs. In their first playoff game, he was the
only one to score a TD on either side of the ball. End of story.
On defense, I think that their are many candidates, but I am totally going to nominate my own dude, Texas Snowplow (
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=494259). I have to. If you look at the company he holds in terms of sacks, hurries, TFLs, and FFums, you will see that he is
QUITE outleveled, with the only exception being Dwight Greene, who is still a higher level. Call it what you will, but turnovers and big plays are what change ball games--even though it is painfully obvious that the sim likes to even up the stakes with subsequent turnovers.
Trying to be as unbiased as I can (when nominating my own player), I think that these players have contributed an awful lot to the success of their respective teams given their circumstances. MVP is, after all, all about what a team would be like in the absence of that player.
