WightBoy has a great point.

You have to suck up and treat owners and GMs with a little respect if you want to get what you want. That is the way the game is played.

To me, if someone is honest, I treat them with respect.

A perfect exmaple of this is one of my characters.
I traded my FB to a team for cash.

The teams record is ok, but the owner/gm is a nice guy. Out of respect, I PMed him, and told him UP FRONT, next season, I WILL NOT BOOST. I wanted him to know it (I have too many players and only will boost specific ones, just so I am not spending massive amounts of Flex Points)

He replied back saying thanks for the PM and he didnt see that as being a problem.
I replied back, and simply stated, I dont expect to start, I just like to get at least 20-30 plays, so my char can still improve.

Honestly in general is a good policy as well.

Yeah, Dave, I have to admit, I was a bit intoxicated in my post, and might have come across a bit harsh. But owners, when they talk to and sign a player, expect that the player knows what he's getting into. Players have to scout teams as much as teams scout players. If you have a level 5 kicker, and they have a level 17 kicker... Well, kickers don't tire too easily, so you'd better have a damn good build.

More talking = more knowledge about everyone's intentions. Never, in my opinion, sign a contract with a new team for longer than a year. If everyone is happy after a year, you can sign for longer. That way, if you get screwed (as owner or as agent,) you have an out. Until the contract is up, you just kinda have to deal.

And, Dave, never take your anger into the public. If you agitate, that's more people that might not ever consider hiring your player. We're -all- the media and the scouts in GLB. You do seem like a reasonable guy, after your initial anger, though.
