The game already gives out trophies for stat leaders.

After that, it gets pretty subjective. If the owners wanted to, we could all vote the pro bowlers and our top 3 choices for MVP, again, can't choose from your own team.

Choice 1 gets 5 points, choice 2 gets 3 points and choice 3 gets 1 point. The highest total gets the Zeta MVP award.

Good idea! When would you like us to do this by?

I know that you didn't want us to name players off our own team but I think two of the Wolverines have been snubed.

First there is a big drop in production after teh first three QB in the conferance.SO I think that all three should be on the list.

Spot On, QB Wolverines

Then we have a punter that leads the conference in percentage and he didn't even get mentioned. He is being left off the list because he hasn't kicked 30 field goals. He is at 90+ percent for the year. So I nominate.

Das Boots, K Wolverines.

ME
GM of the wolverines.

I must take exception to your kicker (mostly, in standing up for my guy). Chase has 30 FGs on the season, while Das has just 19. Chase has also more than doubled Das's extra point total, 62-30. Chase has also banged in 1 more 40-yarder than Das (7/9 for Chase, 6/8 for Das). Lastly, Chase has attempted the only 50+ yard field goal in the league this year. Yes, Das has the highest accuracy at 90.5%, but hasn't tried as many field goals from as long of range.

It appears a much similar argument could be made for Spot On.

That's all I have to say about that; I think the lists were made with a good deal of attention to detail. I could make those same arguments for a half-dozen of my guys, but I see how each player on that list is highly rewarding of a spot.

I strongly considered doing an alpha list but spent FAR too much time doing the zeta list and figured that alpha would be better off with someone who knows that conference better than me, id feel kinda bad naming a Pro Bowl squad for a conference i dont know much about

I actually have Spot On ranked 4th in my QBs for Zeta behind Chris "Razzle" Dazzle of Tonga. While Spot On has 675 more passing yards than Dazzle what puts me off is his 15TDs to 11Ints against Dazzle's 17TDs to just 2 Ints. I did take into consideration that Tonga boasts one of the leagues best rushing attacks and Dazzle isnt asked to pass as much but i felt that he was more efficent when passing (65.5% completions to Spots 55.9, 6.9ypa to spots 5.8). However at the time i decided to carry just the 2 QBs.

The final list will hopefully have the help of all the Owners so it can still change, but that was my reasoning.

Sounds good to me.

I was more or less looking for the reasoning behind those two selections.

Thanks for clearing it up for me.

For all owners - please submit PRO Bowl lists (top 3 for each position) and MVP selection (again, top 3) after week 15 games. I will take in selections between week 15 and 16 games, but am closing the voting offer as soon as week 16 games start to sim (since we do not have common opponents for the last week).

I'll send out a couple of reminders to all owners and hope all 16 will participate. Remember, you cannot vote for players on your own team.

Cheers,

Matt Scace
Owner, Melbourne Thorny Devils

PS - any GM's or players who pump their players on here will actually drop down my lists, and I'd encourage other owners to use that same mentality so this doesn't turn into an attempt at a popularity contest.

Not saying it should be used (nor am I volunteering), but I like the format that was done in the Cananda leagues last year for voting.

Every owner nominates players from their teams that have the stats where they may be voted to the Pro Bowl. The names/stats were compiled to a survey page (several out there) and each position was voted on by the owners from the nominated list.

After the voting completed, the guys that put it together got the attributes for each of the players voted into the Pro Bowl and created Madden characters according to how the player was built. They simmed the game and posted the game results.

It is a ton of work, but pretty cool results. It is much less time for each owner to look at every player and see where they rank for the voting. You're more likely to get a response from all owners for the nominate/vote method than scouring rosters.

How many players was each owner allowed to nominate?

There wasn't a set number. It was basically, if the owner thought the person was worthy of a nomination they were put in there. For my team, I only nominated two players. I think the most, was undefeated teams nominating 7-8 players from different positions. If there was a want/desire to cap the number (makes it easier for the people keeping track), then we're free to do so.

If nothing else, it also shows some recognition to the players that the owners thought did a good job and were key members of setting up their teams. It helps to build the connection between players/owners.

Okay, let's try it this way - I'll leave the cap at 10 players to see how many nominations we get...if I get 160 players nominated, I'll probably cut it back next season.

So, if each owner could please PM me a list of players (up to 10) from their team that they believe should be in disucssion for the PRO BOWL and MVP discussions, that would be great, and I'll get them compiled and send out a voting list after I have all the nominations. The deadline for nominations will be noon EST on the day after week 15 games.

Cheers,

HAHA I never knew that guess it's because I have never seen a trophy for the stats.

Sounds good. Another way to do it would be to sign them up on one of the many free survey sites. This will make final tallies more accurate, and also allow for more than owners voting.

either way, I need all owners interested to nominate players from your team by the day after week 15 games, and we'll vote after that. Hopefully we'll get all 16 teams on board

Oh yeah, every team will have at least 1 representative on the team

I like voting my own players better than others. Are we then voting on from the complied list?
