Haven't built a SS in ages. Didn't know that they could slot into the LB position. One way to circÚmvent (seeing the 3 letters dotted had me laughing - oh the irony) this is to not allow SS to play LB in the depth chart.

DT/DE prices are similar, no? 50% OOP is quite an expensive trade-off to save 275k (S*)

Also, "Positionless" should only apply to positions that the game allows player deployment. If the player isn't on the depth chart, then he suffers the OOP even with the "Positionless" trait.

LB can also play DT, which is bananas.

LBs can NOT play DT. You are thinking about the DT1 spot in the 5-2 which is a positionless spot. There is no OOP for DT1 and GLTE positions.

DT1 in 5-2 you can put a lb without penalty. Now you can always put a lb at DE but will have a penalty, you can put a SS at lb with a penalty. FS at CB with a penalty.

Directly from bort the only swappable position is SS and FS can play each other position with no penalty because they cost the exact same and mostly do the same thing in glb2.


Also, wanting a lb to play SS makes no sense. In real football yes SS step down in the box and plays a pseudo LB all the time, but lbs do NOT drop back to where a SS starts a play almost ever. Have I played in a system where the weak side lb was kinda a pseudo SS yea, but it just doesn't happen at the NFL level. Wanting something like that just doesn't make sense for GLB2.

Bort has been very firm about not changing OOP on guys. I have asked about FS playing CB and not getting penalized,..it was denied right away.

I get it...it just doesnt make sense to me. LBs dont ever step back into a SS role, even being OOP it just doesn't make sense to me.

LBs having a oopp to ss does need to be considered by bort.

Lb and ss are hybrid right now with everything that they do. And in this game, like the ss, LBs do in fact play deep zone. Quite a bit in fact on my team. Having a 15% penalty or whatever oopp is, sounds fair for a lb to ss slot.

Sure if it makes you happy....still wont make any sense but sure.

OOP penalty is 10% and SA's don't work. So you would end up with a slow, REALLY good tackling SS that doesn't have SA's.

The issue I see with it is that you could completely dominate pure run teams stacking 5 LB's basically

We have TONS of zone plays where the LB drops to deep coverage???

Sure but not start out at a safety position was my point.

Who cares? You should be able to put any player at any position. I mean, who is gonna be stupid enough to purchase a 5th LB and put him at safety with OOP? Waste of 💰
