From the push back I received the first time I suggested two kickers I knew I couldn’t revisit this idea without data.
So, for what it’s worth, here is what I found with the Black Aces run up to and including one season of Vet:
KO kicker: (with 100 kickoff power) 42% of kickoffs ended up in a touchback. This would be the max you can expect because you don’t have the advantage of Follow Up.
FG kicker: (with 100 accuracy & consistency, 53 field goal power, 34 heart, gold Streaky & Chip Shot, silver Lace Out) 77.5% FG made.
And, as you know, my second experiment this season with a S* FG kicker was cut short.
So, with max 42% touch backs, you’d take the ball out of returner’s hands less than half of the time. And, 77.5% FGM, is not exactly game breaking.
I was curious what difference a S* FG kicker would make in this run to Vet but, unfortunately, we won’t get the chance to find out.
So, if people are going to argue about 2 kickers breaking the game, here is some actual game data to help.
Hm. I like this. Would’ve been nice to see with a star.
I said logical responses, not “I will, I will, I will”. We still have punts. Players will get tired regardless. You’ll still have to diversify points regardless of how you build both kickers.
Kickoffs aren’t even the problem, they’re not even a huge part of the game. This is strictly about having the ability to build actual quality kickers.
Few points:
-Kickers were never automatic when we had two kickers so…
-We have prodigy to mitigate the star whore issue a bit so…
-Stop the “I will, I will, I will”
