Dragon League Week 1 Match ups

Cornhuskers @ Miola Maulers
Game of the Week? If the Cornhuskers are serious about competing in this league then this is a game that they can not afford to lose. The dynamic duo of viper and dlcurt should win as they are more experienced coaches and up against a CPU roster.
Players to Watch: Perennial MVP Candidate S* HB Cory Ross and dlcurt's dirty D

The Program @ House Party
This should be the co-GotW along with the BABBs/SRDM4M game. Both games feature teams from last season’s playoffs. I think that it is fair to say that The Program are the slight favorites (58-2 over the first 2 seasons), BUT coach/owner agerm73 has said we can feel the heat, HP and the Cornhuskers are well-coached, competitive teams that are nipping on our heels. We are running out of tricks to throw at these guys.
Players to Watch: Perennial MVP Candidate S* HB Darnell Jefferson, S* TE Rob Gronkowski, S* WR Julian Edelman, QB Joe Kane and agerm73's dirty D.
S* QB Shiva, S* HB Rough Draft, S* WR Zilla, and S* SS Rodney Harrison <- I see this guy in my nightmares.

Grape Apes @ Knoxville Outlaws
The Apes (2-time chumps, err I mean Champs) are the cream of the Dragon League crop until someone knocks them off of the pedestal. I can see Zane’s Outlaws being like Zoey’s team the last two seasons. A lot of improvement but becoming competitive by the end of the season. Too early in the season to beat the Apes though, a task that not many have accomplished.
Players to Watch: Perennial MVP S* HB Slombo#5 and the Apes' star-studded defense

CPU San Diego Flames @ Obscure References
The References should have their way with the CPU Flames.
Sorry Gadz, I do not know your team well enough yet, hopefully after this week.

Texas Magnums @ MV Snow Leopards
Magnums’ coach/owner is already inactive. The only human dots on their roster are sophomores…nuff said. All Snow Leopards, all day, all night, all the way. Eddiedonnvan, If you are interested I have a home for your sophomore dots on a competitive sophomore team (the Miami Angels)
Players to Watch: QB Vail La Croix and the Snow Leopard D

BABBs @ SRDM4M
I love acronyms. Another battle between these to teams. Bay Area’s Best Builds has had the advantage in the past. Can they continue to hold off the Screaming Red Devils and keep pace with the Snow Leopards?
Players to Watch: S* HB Emanuel Quinones, S* QB Rich "The Cannon" Gannon and the Red Devil D
Smashrock's most excellent coaching on both sides of the ball. So damn tough to beat.

I will forego predicting the final standings as the competition will be fierce and I do not want to “offend” anyone.

Best of luck to all non-CPU active teams!

Should be an easy win in a league with not many easy wins. Those that wish to compete for the playoffs will have to earn it with Nebraska, The Program, House Party, Grape Apes, Snow Leopards, BABBs, OR and SRDM4M.

I’m expecting a tough season. And looking forward to the experience and entertaining matchups.

Dragon League Week 1 Results

Cornhuskers 22 Miola Maulers 0
Dlcurt’s Cornhusker defense pitched a shutout versus the no-so-mighty Maulers. The Cornhuskers help the hapless Maulers to 53 total yards, sacking Linc Vera 10 times.
On offense, Nebraska’s S* HB Cory Ross performed as promised, rushing for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Program 45 House Party 14
The Program's offense was the difference in this one, scoring 2 touchdowns in each quarter except the second quarter. The Program’s balanced attack was led by QB Joe Kane completed 70% of his passes for 423 yards and 3 touchdown passes to S* TE Rob Gronkowski (2TDs 118 yards) and S* WR Julian Edelman (1 TD 213 yards). S* HB Darnell Jefferson rushed for 147 yards and 3 TDs.
House Party S* QB Shiva threw touchdown passes to S* WR Zilla and TE Ironman

Grape Apes 56 Knoxville Outlaws 0
The star-studded Ape defense pitched a shutout as was expected. The Ape’s defense is damn near impossible to score on. What scares me is that their offense put up 56 points.
Ape’s QB Slingo Solacesta completed 61% of his 13 passes for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns to WR Slungto Solacesta.
Ape’s S* HB literally carried the team with 484 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns.
Ape’s FS Head Hunter contributed a pick-six.

CPU San Diego Flames 0 Obscure References 30
As predicted, the Flames sputter out versus OR.
OR wins by 3 touchdowns and 3 FGs.
OR QB Randal Graves threw for 2 touchdowns (TE Officer Fluzoo, WR Toman Paoli) and HB Howard the Duck ran one in.
The OR defense was a turnover machine with 4 INTs, 2 by CB Martin Riggs

Texas Magnums 0 MV Snow Leopards 86
Ouch…yep, I said 86-0.
Another shutout and DallasCowboyFan’s offense continues to steamroll opponents.
QB Vail La Croix completed 64% of his passes for 360 yards and 4 TDs. (WR Gabriel Fang, TE Voss Lobo, and WR Zero Sangrey x 2)
The Snow Leopards stable of HBs and QB Vail La Croix collectively contributed to the cause with a combined 6 rushing touchdowns.
CB Crimson Craine added a pick-six to the cause.

BABBs 41 SRDM4M 7
Not quite a shutout. This one hurt. I did not expect to be beat this badly.
BABB touchdowns from the following players
WR Curley Troop-Smith 2 receiving TDs
WR Howey Dodat There 1 receiving TD
HB Demarcus Lamberg 1 rushing TD
FB Kalvin Day 1 rushing TD.

Dragon League Week 2 Matchups

Miola Maulers @ House Party
This match-up should give HP something to Party about. The Maulers were mauled by the Cornhuskers 22-0 in week one. I see Shiva, Zilla, and Rough Draft going crazy in this one.

Cornhuskers @ The Program
Aptly titled this week’s GotW, a battle for early-season Alpha Division supremacy. The Program escaped House Party now to plan for the equally dangerous Cornhuskers. Dlcurt’s defense scares me. Our for this game is to hold the Cornhuskers to as few points as possible to give our offense a chance to outscore their dingy defense. With that said, now viper is going to go to work on cooking up some sort of weird concoction to steal away our W.
Will the Program be able to contain S* HB Cory Ross? Will the Cornhuskers throw the ball at all? Does the Program have enough weapons to challenge the Nebraska defense?

Knoxville Outlaws @ Obscure References
Based on last week’s performances I see OR soaring to 2-0 and the Outlaws sinking to 0-2. It will be a long day for Knoxville QB Joe Cool if OR repeats last week’s 4 INT defensive performance.

Grape Apes @ CPU San Diego Flames
This one will get ugly fast. I predict that S* HB Slombo #5 with eclipse 500 yards rushing and 5 rushing TDs in another defensive shut-out.

MV Snow Leopards @SRDM4M
Evidently, I need to rework SRDM4M’s offense and defense or we will see a repeat performance of both teams' week 1 results.

Texas Magnums @ BABBs
Oh the destruction. Smashrock’s BABB team will pick up where they left off last week, with another dominant performance

Yeah, but he meant only on the down greater than 4. All others are running plays...
