Gliwice and BSB both sit at 12-1 with BSB holding the tiebreaker win.

BSB is playing 10-3 NW in a game where if BSB wins, they hold the #1 seed and the opportunity to see NW in round 1. If BSB were to sandbag the game, they would get to play one of the 8-5 alpha division teams (Plainville/Columbus).

Additionally if playoffs went by record and tiebreaker alone, the Grape Apes in Beta (league team that beat BSB in the regular season) would still be fighting for a playoff spot.

This is only looking at one league, but these ridiculous scenarios pop up time and time again. I personally do not care whether playoffs are expanded or not to make more late season games meaningful but, playoff seeding should be fixed IMO.

Agree. In the NFL, there is incentive to be #1 seed. You get home field advantage. If they added the feature I suggested where you can select the type of weather that your home field plays in, then home field advantage would matter. As of now, it is better to lose the last game in the above scenario if you are BSB.

Easy to say when your team is always in the playoffs.

I know it would be exciting to continue playing even if it's for 11th place. Better than just sitting around waiting for next season.

Not saying that I am against it. It really does not impact me too much. If people want it and the devs will rock it, then go for it. However, even if playoff expansion occurs, we will still surely see the broken seeding format causing problems if left unchanged.

But, using expanded playoffs (so everyone has a rank at the end of the season, 1 thru 12) to reseed a league's divisions the following season would fix both issues.

If it was implemented, right now in the Ghost League, BSB, Gliwice, and NW Mix would all be in separate divisions and the wild card would truly be the 4th best team in the league.

In real football there's only one league. Lower seeded teams get higher draft picks and vice versa for higher seeded teams. You can trade players. So, there's more of a chance to improve your team.

In GLB you're pretty well stuck with the builds you make at the beginning and then you have to ride it out through Vet or restart from Rookie every few seasons.

So, this isn't real football. This is a game where the goal is to have a fun, competitive environment that makes people want to come back and enjoy playing. Not be met with continuous frustration.

To do that we have to keep the core principles of football but have room to think outside the box to increase entertainment value. Because in real football they don't have the flexibility to do what we can do in the game.

All this makes me wish for a GLB that ran that way. It'd be impossible as people would sandbag teams they had players on to give their team an advantage... but if the world weren't so shitty it'd be awesome to be able to have a more free floating market and player prices that depended upon their production.
