Biff Barf here! I soak up all the news and barf it back at you!
Wow, what an wacky and wild week we were watching!
This has cleared a lot of the fog that was plaguing the play-off picture presently.
Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 Flint Tropics 9-2-0 Their win over a CPU scrub solidified their lead in the Divisional race.Unfortunately they can not clinch until they beat the Yeti Monsters or *~ iŁogic ~* beats the Yeti Monsters.
2 Himalayas Yeti Monsters 7-4-0 They have an outside chance at the division title. They have to run the table and hope *~ iŁogic ~* plays giant killer against Flint.
3 *~ iŁogic ~* 6-5-0 While not official it's pretty much over for *~ iŁogic ~* in the divisional race. Once Flint faces the CPU scrub in the division they will be mathematically out.

Beta Division

1 Kentucky Mountaineers 11-0-0 They have clinched the Division title even before divisional games are played. Next up is home field advantage!
2 Oklahoma Sooners 6-5-0 Were out of it even before they lost to DMFM.

Gamma Division
1 Miamisburg Cobras 9-2-0 Like Flint they lead in the divisional race, but in all honesty they are the divisional winners since they have 2 cream-puffs on schedule with three games to go.
2 Deadpool's Mercs for Money 7-4-0 despite the win they needed *~ iŁogic ~* to win and they didn't. So it's over.

WILD CARD RACE!
1. Himalayas Yeti Monsters 7-4-0 beat DMFM and Sooners and have a one game lead on *~ iŁogic ~* with both facing the same opponents, could lose to *~ iŁogic ~* which would devastate them though.
2. Deadpool's Mercs for Money 7-4-0 Have to run the table while HYM loses to one opponent or have HYM lose to *~ iŁogic ~* as well as Flint while only losing to Cobras.
3. *~ iŁogic ~* 6-5-0 MUST run the table, have DMFM lose an upset of biblical proportions to a CPU... Yeah, I know...
4. Oklahoma Sooners 6-5-0 Same problems as *~ iŁogic ~* but must have *~ iŁogic ~* also lose to Flint.

Bold --clinched division (official)
underlined --clinched playoff spot. (official)

. : - Nimitz League - : .
Alpha Division
1 Flint Tropics 10-2-0 Beat the Yeti Monsters and removed all doubt about the title. It's theirs and they are the Alpha dogs in this division.
2 *~ iŁogic ~* 7-5-0 Took out their frustrations from this season on the Dachshunds and in doing so kept their play-off aspirations alive.
3 Himalayas Yeti Monsters 7-5-0 suffered a serious blow to their play-off dreams but they are still in the race.
4 Hartford Dachshunds CPU 3-9-0 Whatever.

Beta Division
1 Kentucky Mountaineers 12-0-0 Can you clinch twice? Well they now have inside track on home field throughout play-offs and will clinch it with a win next week.
2 Oklahoma Sooners 7-5-0 Beat the Tigers to keep wild-card still within reach, barely but it's not dead.
3 Aikahi Tigers 3-9-0 Lost in a close heart-breaker. The defense was game but the offense refused to show up. A poorly thrown INT with 1:00 minute left on 3rd and 10 from mid-field ended it all.
4 Miami Supreme CPU 2-10-0

Gamma Division
1 Miamisburg Cobras 10-2-0 Clinched is still not official but if they lose to the Blue Jays I'll eat Gal Gadot's shorts...well, I can dream...
2 Deadpool's Mercs for Money 8-4-0 Took the surprising early lead for the wild-card by slaughtering the Blue Jays but a looming match-up at year's end with Cobras will tell it all.
3 Cincinnati Blue Jays CPU 2-10-0 Ouch.
4 Tucson Slugs CPU 1-11-0 Oh the humanity! https://giphy.com/gifs/fire-oh-hindenburg-ToMjGpwzn0LcDX4uwZa

Wild Card Race!
1. Deadpool's Mercs for Money 8-4-0. Only time will tell if they can keep this pace.
2. Himalayas Yeti Monsters..... 7-5-0. Are still in a good spot because of tie-breaker advantages. BUT a loss to *~ iŁogic ~* would spell DOOM.
3. *~ iŁogic ~* . . . . . . . . . . . 7-5-0. They're doing their part to stay relevant but seriously need a miracle next week for DMFM to lose.
4. Oklahoma Sooners . . . . . . 7-5-0. Still can't believe they let it all slip away with one loss to DMFM. But they win and DMFM loses next week and all bets are off! Except HYM would still need to lose to *~ iŁogic ~* and *~ iŁogic ~* would have to lose to Flint and DMFM lose in the final game to...

Biff Barf here, I soak up all the news and barf it back at you! Teams have one game left to finish the season and much is cleared up now. The divisional winners are set and only one thing left to wrap up!

Alpha Division
1 Flint Tropics 11-2-0 Won Division, Beat iLogic, what a good week for them.
2 Himalayas Yeti Monsters 8-5-0 Still in it for wild-card! Win gives them a lot of hope since DMFM has to face Cobras.
3 *~ iŁogic ~* 7-6-0 They must dream about what could have been...
4 Hartford Dachshunds CPU 3-10-0

Beta Division
1 Kentucky Mountaineers 13-0-0 clinch Home field it's all home cooking from now on.
2 Oklahoma Sooners 7-6-0 Loss was all it took to make them pack their bags...
3 Aikahi Tigers 4-9-0 Could say they are the best of the lower half of league.
4 Miami Supreme CPU 2-11-0

Gamma Division
1 Miamisburg Cobras 11-2-0 Clinch officially the Division.
2 Deadpool's Mercs for Money 9-4-0 Have their own fate in their own hands. Win and they're in, lose and they need HYM to lose to *~ iŁogic ~*.
3 Cincinnati Blue Jays CPU 2-11-0
4 Tucson Slugs CPU 1-12-0

It's the end of the world as we know it! Well the end of the season and it shows it, and I feel fine... Biff Barf here! I'm soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you. The wild card was settled today as one team backed at and the other stepped up to the challenge. Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 Flint Tropics 12-2-0 Long since clinched and will face Miamisburg in the semi-finals.
2 Himalayas Yeti Monsters 9-5-0 Did what they had to do and it paid off. Get to face the Mountaineers in Kentucky in the semi-s.
3 *~ iŁogic ~* 7-7-0 fell to .500 for a disappointing end to the season.
4 Hartford Dachshunds CPU 3-11-0 Whatever.

Beta Division
1 Kentucky Mountaineers 14-0-0Home field and Division winning? What a concept.
2 Oklahoma Sooners 8-6-0 Ended the season on a high note as they get a winning record while stomping mudhole into Miami Supreme.
3 Aikahi Tigers 4-10-0 Slow start and rough finish to season led to this which they'd rather forget.
4 Miami Supreme CPU 2-12-0 Who cares?

Gamma Division
1 Miamisburg Cobras 12-2-0 finished strong and look forward now to Flint fight.
2 Deadpool's Mercs for Money 9-5-0 They were so close and yet... best of the also ran...
3 Cincinnati Blue Jays CPU 3-11-0 Blah blah blah.
4 Tucson Slugs CPU 1-13-0 They still play?

*** Nimitz League Championship! ***

Flint Tropics (12-2-0) AT Kentucky Mountaineers (14-0-0)
Season 49, Day 46 at 10:00am In a light snowy day, temperatures dipping to 18°F, Wind a mild 4mph passing through the stadium.
Teams......................... 1st 2nd 3rd 4th OT Final
Flint Tropics................ 6... 0... 7... 7... 0... 20
Kentucky Mountaineers 0... 14. 14. 14. 0... 42

How they got here:
Flint won the Alpha Division roaring out the gates winning 12 straight counting ladder matches. Then they ran into Kentucky and Miamisburg and going 2-2 in league and even lost a ladder match between Nov 10th and Nov 19th. They righted the ship and finished the season on a 4 game league win streak going into the play-offs. They went to their Dec 4th semi-final contest @Miamisburg Cobras with revenge on their minds and walked out with a W 45-13.

Kentucky started their season with a win in the league opener but then immediately stumbled in their first ladder match-up. This would lead to an undefeated league record and only one other ladder lost through out the season. They entered the season with a lot of pressure to finish with a perfect season as they met the Himalayas Yeti Monsters in their semi-final game and just barely dodged the proverbial bullet winning 21-19.

The Poseidon Trophy would be decided in the cold hard turf of Kentucky as a cold front had swept in off the Mid-West plains. General Manager Detroit Leos of the Mountaineers was quoted as saying "Who da fudge messed the thermostat!?" But owner Myrik_Justiciar seemed confident this would work in their favor since they had the powerful running attack of League OMVP HB Bob Murdoch V to lean on. Even as light snow began falling early in the morning His confidence was well warranted as no one had more rushing yards or rushing TDs than Bob. Meanwhile Flint were not without their powerful HB attack either as HB Johnny Bravo was third in the OMVP race and had broken more tackles than Bob had this season. The other factor of a passing game offensively also laid in Kentucky's favor with the leagues highest rated passer combined with it's most prolific scoring TE. This would be a tough mountain to climb for the underdog Tropics. As for the defenses, well let's just say they combined to hold 5 of the top 6 DMVP slots this season with Kentucky holding all 5 of them...

Flint won the toss and chose to receive. Kentucky Kicker Rob Hauschka kicked off for 81 yards to KR Mercury Malibu who caught it deep in the end-zone and then surprised everyone as he ran it out for a 31 yard return. Relying mostly on the passing of QB John Elway #7, they reached the Mountaineer 22. That's when QB John Elway #7 pitched left on a HB Sweep to HB Johnny Bravo as Kentucky Blitzed their OLB who got picked up by the TE. Bravo then trucked CB Darius Bouye (Weak Side Corner), LILB Arthur Morgan, and CB Tim Ford (Strong Side Corner) for a 22 yard gain and a touchdown! Sadly Flint Kicker Stuart Pearce missed the XP when he slipped slightly during the attempted.
Kicker Stuart Pearce kicked off 71 yards to KR Bob Murdoch V, he promptly ran out of bounds for a 38 yard return. Kentucky drove to the Flint 24 but then failed on a 41 yarder giving the ball up to Flint at that point. On the ensuing drive Flint QB John Elway #7 threw a pass to TE General Disarray, who made the catch for a 10 yard gain and a first down! He was tackled by LOLB Samson Stewart after Stewart came close to picking it off. With 3:50left on 2nd & 12 from their own 45, QB John Elway #7 pitched to HB Johnny Bravo who was tackled by SS Brock Murdoch V but not until he ran for a 29 yard gain and a first down! The drive continued until it stalled out with only 0:43 left in the 1st quarter with a 4th & 11on the Mountaineer 14. Kicker Stuart Pearce attempted the 32 yard field goal, but it was no good!
Kentucky finished off the Quarter with the ball and continued the drive into the second. On a 2nd & 7from the Flint 47 QB Brody Murdoch IV threw a pass to TE Tim Surge, who made the catch for a 15 yard gain and a first down! He was tackled by SS Dan Halen who was just a bit late after the outside slant cut. Then on a critical 3rd & 2 on the Flint 24 QB Brody Murdoch IV handed off to HB Bob Murdoch V who broke through LOLB Tropics Top tackle for a 3 yard gain and a first down! He was eventually tackled by MLB Early Cuyler. Finally on another 3rd down this time a goal to go from the 2, QB Brody Murdoch IV threw a pass to TE Tim Surge, who made the catch for a 2 yard gain and a touchdown! Capping off a long 15 play, 6 minute and 48 second drive with the extra point.
The ensuing Tropics drive was cut short when, with 6:44 left in the half, 3rd & 8 from their own 47, NT Kade Murdoch III forced a hurried pass by QB John Elway #7 to WR2 Dread Baron, but the ball was intercepted by LILB Arthur Morgan! He was promptly tackled by WR2 Dread Baron but the damage was done... Leaning heavily on their run game Kentucky drove to the Flint 10 and a 2nd down and 1. QB Brody Murdoch IV handed off to HB Bob Murdoch V on a dive up the gut. Flint's defensive coordinator was schooled on this play as he guessed another sweep was in the works and dialed up a edge blitz. Bob first juked RILB Early Cuyler who overran the play and then FS Jake The Dog was left flatfooted as Bob cut to his left and out ran him for a 10 yard gain and a touchdown!
With a mere 1:47 seconds left in the half Flint had slim hopes to score before the intermission. They did still have all their time outs so it was possible to use the whole field. For a little while it looked like they would do it too taking the Kick off to their 27 and then with wise use of two time outs and timely passes drove all the way to the Kentucky 31 yard line. But it was 3rd and 4 with only 22 seconds left and one time out. Had they ran and then called the time out they had a shot at a decent long FG attempt due to low winds. Instead they chose to go with what got them there and dialed up a 10th straight pass. QB John Elway #7 dropped back and threw a pass to BTE Slim Jim Jenkins, but the ball was intercepted by RILB Pat Mathieu (ILB) ! The Mountaineers then ran out the clock and went into half time leading 14 to 6 over Flint and they would get the ball to start the second half too.

This pretty much ended any drama for the game. The Mountaineers drove that opening possession to a TD and the two teams traded 2 scoring drives each after that until Kentucky finished off scoring with another TD to extend their lead and Flint floundered in their last desperate bid by throwing another INT. The Mountaineers then simply killed the clock for a perfect season. HB Bob Murdoch V was named OMVP of the game having rushed for 3 RushTD, 222 yards, Broke 18 Tackles, 16 first downs, and he also contributed 23.5 receiving yards (all after the catch) and had 4 kick returns for 135.5yards for a 33.9 yard average. LB Arthur Morgan received DMVP for his 2 interceptions, 3 pass defenses and 4 tackles with 8 assists. SPMVP went to Flint Tropics' HB Mercury Malibu for his excelent KR performance.

As is Murdoch. So many times I thought we had him stopped short of the 1st, and he'd just get to that sideline and turn up for a few yards.

Grats on another C!

What are your plans for resetting? Flint and my 1 really active owner want to reset next year, but I want to make sure we reset with some good teams, to keep strong competition. I mean sure, some easy champs would be nice (is this 4 yours in a row you beat me in C game?), but I actually enjoy gameplanning against you

I have one more season before I'm forced to reset or ask my guys to drop lots of $$$ on the game to extend another season or two in the current run. Just looking at it, the whole team would cost what like $90 for an extra season after the next I think? I've never done it, but if I don't try to at some point I'll never get any of my guys ranked high on the HoF (and they are grumbling). I have plans on revising my builds to make the team better so that's a factor too.

As far as game planning against one another... that's how you get good, by playing good teams and them forcing you to improve your game. I spent years with rivalries against DL's Blood Sweat and Bears, Dredgar's Southside, Rob's AA teams, the Bronx Bombers, etc etc. I've only won Vet once, but I came in 2nd many many f'n times because of these rivalries. Without those constant matchups, I wouldn't have gotten this far. I will say that we all garnered respect for one another through it all and now run teams with each other like my Lexington team or DL's BSB.

I'll say that our matchups between you and I have been fun and despite some of the scores, none were walks in the park for me.
