Eh, I'm not a fan of just giving them old meta builds from the HoF. The meta changes frequently and you wind up with a team full of old builds that don't work and thus the cpu teams are still easily walked on, not to mention getting lopsided amounts of the same build in multiple positions would suck. I think the idea is to make them at least competent so when you do beat them its more of a 30 to 10 or 0 type game instead of 118 to 0 massacres. Basic templates that are fairly competent despite any changes would go a long way in durability and at least being somewhat competitive.

Even with old meta builds they would still do way better than they are now.

Why do they have to be old meta builds? Just take the top guys from the previous season every season. You could do it from every tier.

I’d be happy with just my random qBi makes CPU team not picking an all QB run playbook while my QB is a pure passer lol. And it was switched to this just this season. Had I know I would have moved my players before the season started. Then again takes half a season to move a couple guys if you’re trying to keep them on the he same team. Sigh

Partly to not devalue builds people find that work. A grace period of sorts.

I don't think CPU players are necessarily all that bad. I think the reason cpu teams suck is their playbooks and tactics. It would be nice if we could chose which FA cpu player we sign. If I want a man coverage corner don't give me a guy with zone coverage traits.

It would be nice if you went to sign a CPU HB, you could select from different archetypes. It would give you the option to select power, elusive, returner, or scat. This could be applied to all other positions but would take a lot of effort.

Co-signing this idea, but also agree that it may be more work than it's worth for the devs.

Still new here, but is there a reason why we cpu builds are not visible? Even if it was just to owners and coaches would be great. Just curious.

Fr. I'd love to see rookie CPU O-line builds, I suspect they weren't adjusted after the huge SP cost changes to blocking back in like season 6

So Corndog, what's the verdict on this?

Are you willing to change up CPU builds?

This is exactly what I suggested... I don't think it would take that much effort (at least I hope not). Myself and I'm sure others would be happy to help create those archetypes/templates if need be.

Willing? Sure. But, seems a lot of mixed opinions, and didn't think about the fact that this idea would make CPUs better than human players in like 80-90 percent of instances.

Perhaps test it out with limited boosting, to reduce their effectiveness while still maintaining the good build ethics.

I think you're overstating that a lot.

First, most of the HOF builds are of Superstars and the CPU's aren't Superstars. That right there is a huge difference.

Second, a non-Superstar HOF build isn't going to be better than a human building a player in coordination with a coaching staff that knows how to utilize that player. Coaching is still going to have a huge impact.

Third, the current gap between a player build and a CPU build is enormous. Certainly there has to be some way you can close the gap without causing CPUs to be better than Player builds. There may be a lot of different ideas posted, but the one idea everyone agrees on is that the current CPU builds are a joke. Pick the one idea that seems best to you and implement it.

The most glaring issue I see that could be fixed is to increase Conditioning across all CPU builds.
The second would be higher Sprinting values for everyone but OL/DL and QBs.
