I agree. This feature is dumb. If people want to let their TE go out for a pass on every play, they should be able to do so. They might get sacked a ton though.

I completely disagree with this part, but if it's an option for those who thinks it actually helps them they can still do it. I'm not sure how many teams have pass blocking TEs but they sound pretty worthless to me. The biggest weapon against the blitz is to get the ball off quickly to the TE. When the TE is held back the others get double teamed causing the QB to hold the ball longer. There is an option for the blitz already in place and I am fine with that. The rattled thing makes absolutely no sense though.
-Most teams that pass the ball have a receiving TE, completely worthless for pass blocking.
-Most pass blitzes come from the weak side opposite of the TE
-The TE is a huge part of anti blitz pass plays
-Double teamed WRs cause the QB to hold the ball longer leading to sacks, hurries, and bad throws further "rattling" the QB
-On 3rd and 8+ you may be taking away 1 of 2 routes that actually go 8+ yards in a reasonable time-frame
-Forcing us to target the TE first takes targets away from WRs with this work around
-The fact we even need a work around shows this is a problem for many, let's have an actual option instead

There should just be a per play option to hold in whoever you want instead of a wild card of which play and who will be held in.
