Hot chicks! Cuz well, obviously, sex sells flex.
Forum > Goal Line Blitz 2 > How to grow GLB2?
#1 need to make an app. I only use mobile and have found other games sort of like this because they had an app to the website
#2 let us use player money somehow. Something simple like 5 tiers of 5 items.
Example: lvl3 house adds 3 conditioning to player. Lvl5 shoes add 5 sprint etc
#3 let new users have 1k flex to build more players and/or buy a team. Let them try the game out to its fullest to keep them interested.

Retain your users with shiny new things. It's pretty obvious most of their time right now is being spent on their new MMORPG or whatever so in the meantime you have to retain the guys here.
- more plays for offense and defense
- more formations
- keep tweaking the screen plays because most of them are just straight broken.
- introduce some new SA's.
These are important because not only does it keep things fresh for us older players but it also helps even the playing field for some of the newer users as some of these concepts change the whole meta.

Yeah, new things are good, even if they are useless, people like detail, like players entrance, sideline coach and bench, commemoration, referees, cheerleaders, maybe better stadium customization, without interfering with finances or salary cap, just for fun.
Oh and better sim, its so anoying to watch the game live, and there are spoilers, when it takes too long to fast foward it means that the next play will be long, probably a long play, TD or turnover.

Not more but less. It's counter-intuitive I know but how many models of iPhones are there for the unit sales they get?
The newbie problem with this is game is the exact issue that veteran agents love.
Play calling.
If you want a more commercial game, you need to change the play calling advantage of the veteran players. This is a substantial change to the game.
My thought (and it's a though rather than a suggestion) is:
Create a few different Offense and Defense play books that teams could choose from. Veteran agents could build these play books for Bort/ Corndog. They would approve of them (and the tactics). Limit teams to 5 choices.
This probably works best in different Leagues or for example restricting this play calling by Tier.
Example: Rookie has 2 choices on both O and D.
Soph has 3 choices.
Journeyman has 5.
Pro has 10.
Veteran is where the customized play calling comes into play.
This structure would be much more newbie friendly.
Veteran agents could keep there teams in Vet or restart them and be limited to the same play calling restrictions as the newbies.

I like reduced playcalling suggestion and decent default gameplans, the restriction to gameplan packages without customization could even create a balanced enviroment to observe the state of the game and build effectiveness.
But this iPhone anology is hardly applicable, a more compatible comparison is to other games, and sucessfull titles with longevity rellies on constantly new updates and content, for exemple, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and for mobile Summoner Wars (i'm not talking about quality, i'm talking about financial sucess and big player base).
But if you were talking strictly about play calling, i think you mean a more casual approach, at least for new players, not necessarilly means "not more but less".
But yeah this game needs an friendlier "face" for new players, personally i played GLB1 and it was so complicated, even for optimal player build, trainning, equipment, etc...Then i started playing GLB2 when it came out (i think) and i dropped, for some reason i decided to come back, the learning curve was troublesome.

Content is different than Structure.
Limiting play calling is a Structure issue. There are a limited number of IPhone models available yet there are huge sales.
Content can always be added (like Apps) that changes build design, meta, etc.

A big problem for GLB is dead time/engagement between games. If you're a power user or coach, then there's enough to keep you interested. But if you're a casual agent with a few players, there's no reason to login unless it's gameday. And even then, there's no outlet for agents to really crow about their players, its almost all owners/coaches in tier discussion threads.
So where's the satisfaction for the casual agent? Maybe get an achievement? Get an award icon at the end of a season? GLB2 has lackluster stat pages that don't even compare to old Tecmo Bowl SNES games. The highlight plays presentation is stale, and the HOF rankings are wonky. Once an agent adds the SP his players earned from a game...what else is there here for them to do?
Now sure what the answer to this is, but more game modes would probably help. Perhaps pickup mini-leagues that spanned a week with multiple games a day, filled with pickup players. Or a Draft/NFL styled league with the old salary structure where teams use rook/soph/jour/pro/vet all on the same roster. Tournaments...what happened to those?

I think a lot of new agents come in and want to make QB, HB, WR. Most vet owners already have guys who build them these positions and have for a few teams already.
So said new player buys his own team, can't compete and doesn't bother to figure out why. One more gone before they started.
Also wouldn't hurt to force depth to be used more. As is QB, HB, TE, WR1/2 are the only positions worth making on O for a new pkayer(and this is if they are on a decent run team). Any new agent who doesn't get to build one of these players likely will lose interest quickly. Once people figured out you can stack conditioning depth became obsolete. That makes it even more boring for new agents who made the 4th WR for someone. Their WR is lucky to see a pass or two a game.
For myself I just can't justify spending what it takes. I have a two year old and his future is more important than being able to field my own team. In penny pinching mode lol
I've said all along I think the game would do better as a subscription based game where people build their own team for a seasonally fee. Cap S*s and charge extra for them. Instead of 10 agents or more on one team you get 10 teams instead. I know this has its own issues, but I think agents would stick around and try and figure it out longer just by having their own guys getting the touches.

All great ideas, but what we need is more cowbell.. I got a fever! I would say time is the biggest defector for me.. The back to back games are killer. I know that is why people blow off ladder games because it's a bitch to game plan b2b. When I was really active and tried to game plan it took a good amount of time. Maybe every other day? The season would be crazy long but that in my opinion would help, at least people that are busy with RLS.
