But the OLine change was big. No one is getting 700 Panckaes again either.

Some changes are tweaks; some make it a different game entirely,

definitely true xars (I'm not trying to make any kind of argument here) -- but others have dramatically better stats in total yards / TDs / etc. which makes me think it must be the strength of schedule component of whatever formula is used.

I could be wrong though.

I think players from early in the game got better HOF rankings due to there being fewer tiers. Guys who started in season 1 were virtually a vet player their entire career. Guys who started in season 2 or 3 were only one or two tiers below the highest tier for their whole career. Due to this their seasons had more value vs players of today who start off 5 tiers behind as rookies.

once upon a time GLB might have been 30 real games in a season -- now many levels have at least 10 cpu or garbage teams -- pretty big difference (not saying I agree with hof rankings or anything)

Eh its always been roughly 10 good games a season for the top of the tier teams. I am actually kinda sad we weren't able to get this season down to 2 leagues in veteran as it would have been quite the slugfest day in and day out.
