O wow, I really haven't commented yet. I know I thought of saying something a couple times, but just never did.... well here's my response.

I, myself would like to give a big thanks to Greg0781. When I first found GLB2 and started, he instantly signed me on and let me start taking over his defense with The Simpsons. That was in the Black Mamba League. And I found that Black Mamba League actually ended up being a really good League to start out and learn in, against quality opponents. I would also like to thank Jakedood for his huge amounts of contributions he has given me towards overall game planning abilities as well as assistance with player builds.

I have gotten bits of help here and there from other agents, both experienced and new, but those 2 agents have given the most assistance in getting me to where I am now. Now I find myself helping as many new people as I can as much as I can.

Just try to give Kudos to those that I know have had an impact. People want to help new people, but who knows who really is and who just thinks it's a good idea. So, name drops help identify. New people know where they can go.

Outside the those helping, I also did a lot of reading through the forums. Both recent and past, myself and Brian's Raiders used to play a ton back towards the beginning of GLB. But GLB and GLB2 are actually quite different if you ask me.

Very different in terms of what works for plays. The speed of players is quite different. So say hb's aren't as useful in the passing game as in glb. Great game just too bad they stopped working on expanding it and things got boring afterror awhile.

Yep, GLB wasn't even close to as expensive

But yeah, I enjoy GLB2 a bit more to be honest.

I always felt that Classic was more expensive up front, but flex could be recycled forever. GLB2 is cheaper up front, but you don't get as much back when you retire a player.

It's not just not getting back as much, it's 75% vs 30%.

You used to get back 3/4 of your investment, so you were purchasing 25% of your total invested flex as upkeep.

Now you get back 3/10 so you are spending 70% of your invested flex as upkeep.

That includes all boosting of players and all the extras on top, so the up-front doesn't matter quite as much. You burn flex at a much faster rate on 2.

Yeah. I quit doing AP boosts on most of my players and would need a very special circumstance to resume career boosts.

Mostly this. Getting toward the end of your player career the expense really starts hitting you between AP's, Career Boosts, final SP's additions.

Not really.

GLB players cost around 7.5k.
GLB2 players cost around 2.5k.

100k flex gets you 13 players the first generation in GLB
2.5k left over
97,500 * 70% (it's 70% not 75%) = 68,250
= 70,750 flex left over

That same 100k flex for 13 players in GLB2
67,500 left over
32,500 * 30% = 9,750
= 77,250 flex left over

Then there's other things like the fact that teams have many more players on GLB Classic, and non-refundable things like some CEQ upgrades.

The only things that are priced too high are career boosts and AP boosts. Those can get fairly expensive when you field an entire team. However, owning a team is very cheap.

Imo this game is way to expensive for the average Joe to have any chance of competing...then again even for the deeper pocket folks, you field a team and spend a nice hefty chunk on flex to do it...what does 1 get for even winning a championship?
Here ya go a nice shinny gif trophy, not even a flex reward for the ultimate achievement in the game
