Thank you guys for taking the time to write those replies.. excellent points. I'm excited to learn more about glb2 and its features after reading what you guys said. Normally I log on glb2 for about 10mins and then log out to go to glb classic where I spend much more time, but thats going to change.

As a new player here it doesn't feel too dead, the replies were pretty quick. It seems like there's still plenty going on in the forums and a good community of people here to help newbs like me. Hopefully glb lives for many more years to come.

😎

I wish the game more closely resembled professional football. Instead, it's more a kin to arcade style football dressed in simulation style football clothes. There are more QB rollout plays offered than there are play action plays bc this game has 0 play action plays. I like GLB2 for the most part but find it unrealistic and counter intuitive to my understanding of the game of football.
If someone knows of a game that is closer to a sim, I would appreciate a referral.

You get 4 downs to gain 10 yards, earn 6 points for crossing the goal line, looks like football, smells like football, maybe someones expectations of perfection are too high.

There are other games, but none of them have lasted nearly a decade.

Play action would be awesome but it is impractical with the current sim/tactics. Passing out of a formation that you usually run in is like running play action against the opposite coach!

Jag-how long have you played GLB? Btw, you suggested that me thinking GLB lacks realism bc QBs can run rollout plays and have a 3000 yard rushing season as expecting perfection. If all you expect from a football game is 4 downs to get 10, and 6 in the end zone, then why not just play football on Nintendo?
I enjoy this game but it needs to change if it's going to reduce the turnover. It takes too long and too much money to realize any success.

Dee- I appreciate the quality of GLB and I'm not surprised by its longevity.
I do think there are ways to incorporate a more diverse playbook. IE if a def coordinator chooses to build a playbook featuring a lot of zone blitz or cover 2s with robber, they would be exposed by play action if the opposing OC identified, in tactics ,when to call those plays.

This is it. There are many elements in the game like this.

Three downs to get ten yards is pretty realistic or you can gamble with home runs. Atticus, how would play action passes work in this game?

I'm not a fan of the QB roll-outs and pure blocking WRs either. It's unrealistic, cheesy, and takes away from what makes this game great. The defensive roster size is not big enough to counter that and there are a lack of plays to stop it.

It takes time and work to get better, no one is going to hand you anything when they want to crush you. You need to recruit and reach out to the community to build a team, and put the time and the work into it if you want to coach it.

I will say that the Devs have done real well with updates at the end of each season for awhile now... who knows maybe play action will eventually make into the game some day? Regardless I have saw constant improvement each season and people are figuring out new builds and strategies still even after all this time. That tells me there is a lot of meat below the skin, more than most think.

Tactics and plays change depending on the level league etc you play in. Sure a 3k yard rusher rollout QB is stupid if your narrow minded in an NFL Offensive philosophy, but the QB rollout cheese does remind me of the beast option running games from Oklahoma and Nebraska etc back in the day, same with the pure passing cheese, until you reminisce of the old Houston Run and Shoot, damn no game is going to get it right by your standards, Madden can be plenty cheesy if you get the wrong opponents. I for one think the Devs offer a good product, that is competitive and semi realistic as your going to get. The problems in this game are the lack of agents and its too damn expensive, not that the sim is broken cause you cant run a play action. and to answer your question records suggest I have coached 3,760 games to your 49 so either troll with your real account or stfu.

Jag-I'm not trolling. The reason I asked how long you've played is bc I realize that anyone with any semblance of success in this game has gone through many seasons and invested a shit ton of money in to this game. Again, I like the game and am not shitting on the devs. I do find it frustrating that the player attributes or builds are seemingly so ambiguous that agents or users have to spend a lot of money to make good players. And to tell me to "stfu"? That's just hurtful. Your better than that.

Im probably the exception to the rule, I just dont have a ton of money to invest, I mostly coach other agents teams and players, and have tried to help newer players enjoy the same success. I do regret the stfu comment because your right thats not who I am, I was upset at my doctors telling me I dont have enough money to keep myself healthy enough to support my family and eventually keep myself living, and took it out on you. I dont feel you absolutely have to invest tons of money to have fun in this game, but it does help sure. good luck to you, and let me know if there is any way I can help you n this game.

I'll say it again, over and over...I want a GLB 3 where it is the player building from GLB2, and everything else from GLB1 (stadiums, equipment, coaching/AI, etc)
