How does that increase the quality of play? You are just combining 2 quality seasons of play into 1. These teams still come into seasoned and get shellacked by the journeyman and pro teams.

Because Rookie teams would start with the same SP/AP that Soph teams have, while maintaining the typical 4ish leagues on that tier, meaning lots of competition. Seasoned tier would retain the number of teams Soph typically would, and so on until you get to Vet. By improving team retention you can perhaps scale back inter-tier games to just Journey/Pro/Vet, since Seasoned would have the same amount of teams Soph used to.

I like combining rookie/soph, rookie doesn't help new owners learning, on the contrary, some just give up on GLB after losing by 100 points and watching a 13 sprinting QB rush for 70 yards every play. They spend hours gameplaning to get crushed by rollouts, ZEB and 3-4 3 tiger, eliminating this process helps a lot. In Soph you can pass without getting sacked every single time, you can run normaly, teams don't spam rollouts unless their QB is a scrambler, even so is not effective as in rookie.

Not to mention that less tiers means leagues with more human teams.

Ya but you are dropping the retention level of 2 competitive seasons to what will easily amount to new guys getting their ass kicked even more because everything from builds to gameplanning is highly meaningful right off the bat to one competitive season and then jumping into the next season facing journeyman, pro, and likely veteran teams since the tiers are condensed more.

either way, dropping a tier means a complete rescaling of the game and how it works. That isn't just a minor change the structure. Everything from the tier structure, sp/ap allocation, and already spent money by the people that just finished rookie/sophomore tiers is in play.

Definitely would take some re-structuring here and there, but its doable. Rookie teams from the previous season would stay in the new Rookie tier. All new teams would join that tier of course. But beyond that, the SP/AP allocation would stay the exact same. You're just basically starting new teams off at what used to be the old Sophmore level.

Would just be like starting at level 5, call lvl 5 lvl 0 and so on, lvl 25=20.

I would be be more apt to create more players if it didn't cost 600 flex points to keep playing at the vet level per player. The short term view is do I create rookies alongside the vets I have or wait until I retire vets because it is going to cost me 600 flex point to finish out their careers? So far I have been retiring first. So instead of creating more players faster, I am waiting until careers are over and then flipping them. Part of the strategy involved becomes minimizing my expense into the game rather than maximizing my enjoyment while there is the feeling the owners are worried about maximizing every turn of the game with no regard for my enjoyment. I think the reduction in the number of agents over time has shown the effect. Now it looks like college football where 10 people are truly heads and shoulders above everyone else and it isn't entirely because they are simply great, it is because there is less incentive to stay involved until one has reached any level of expertise. The size of the bone getting thrown back isn't relative to the size of the commitment necessary by the customers to keep the game rolling forward.

And extending veteran for everyone only exacerbates the thinning of lower leagues.

The fix is more active agents, and while letting everyone play in vet for free as long as they want would make some people quite happy, it would make the lower leagues even more vacant, making the experience even less interesting for new players, meaning fewer new active agents, which goes the opposite way of fixing the problem.

No, you're just thinking in terms of one derivative.

By increasing the VALUE of a player, you create more players. Once player value is worth more, Agents have more incentive to stick around and make more players.

No one gives a shit about rookie to seasoned... but we still have to pay for those seasons of abortions just to play 4 semi competitive seasons.. fix the 3 shit seasons or give us more time in vet for less.

There is a disconnect between the Admins and the few of us left playing. Its on them at this point.

15 games carrer boost is dumb, at least make it 30, this would give 2 more vet seasons.

Career Boosts/AP Boosts need to be cheaper.

I'd like to have teams start out at Soph and skip rookie to shorten my time to get to Vet (as well as extend my time there) where the real fun is... or do something about ditching some of the middle not so fun tiers or do both. Something needs to be done.

Hows about instead of paying for career boosts, each one we use would reduce flex returned by 25% on retirement. Take all four boosts, you get nothing back.
