No. Listen to aMaizen. I was on that team too, and it was the biggest waste of points ever recorded in this game.

Dharan still has a lot of players with wasted SP in stip tech. kinda sucks. it is an underpowered aspect of the game that needs better logic.

Part of me thinks we just don't fully understand how it fits into the roll-sequence, so it's misused. Opportunist might hint that it's situational, too.

I wonder whether the roll-sequence is similar to the one for breaking a block, going from technique to power, etc--and that the power part is maybe affected by the technique part in some way.

I used to be a big proponent of strip tech because i had built 5 or 6 test builds that dumped everything in strip tech asap and were putting up crazy numbers like 9-20 FF seasons in sophomore, but at vet that dropped significantly to 4-5 FF's a season. The best thesis I can come up with for comparable investments (80 strip compared to 80 pt) is that strip tech seems to be more powerful against players with low carry grip, but possibly the fumble mechanic has more involved in the roll to the point where power tackling is being boosted by say the higher momentum at veteran, or some other complimentary skill, meanwhile strip tech fumbles don't seem to be boosted by power tackling.

The one benefit i see, is strip tech fumbles will keep the tackler on their feet and able to recover the fumble. Power tackling fumbles typically leave the tackler on the ground as well.

Unfortunately strip tech costs too much to be worthwhile. After letting those test builds get to fruition, and seeing the way my defenders on Deez nuts with a strip tech investment are performing, I don't think it's worth the investment. It costs too much and provides too little in return at the higher levels of the game.

Well we have a defense focused only on 100 conditioning and 80+ tackling skills. I'm not sure we are gonna try strip at all because I want us to invest in monster hit, brick wall, and death grip. I know we will probably hurt from lack of first step/closing speed to get to the faster HBs but I just thought it might be worth looking into.

Honestly if our high conditioning and toughness allows for 5+ ff's a game it might be worth running zone defense. But we will see how this test group does.

Good thing about zone defense is most positions don't need a bunch of speed as long as you can contain on the outside.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. Tackle Tech roll first, then power tackle. On my 1st Darth Vader, towards the end of his career, he had like 95 power tackle and 25 tackle tech. I didn't think I needed to invest in tackle tech. He was making solid tackles and forced fumbles but he was also missing a shit ton of tackles. I bumped up tackle tech pretty high and the missed tackles went down significantly.

LOL. You couldn't have sunk too much in at this stage with rookies. You should be fine long term. A little bit of any skill is not going to kill any proper build.

Thanks

I have one build with Opportunist tho, is it worthwhile at all at bronze level?

I don't think so. That you can respec during the next offseason before going to sophomore ball though. Or just swap him in it with another player.

If you want to force fumbles, use power tackle.

Power tackling, tackle tech is still important and speed all work pretty well together.
