Here is my favorite Oline man on the Drunks...

He is going to break into Cake top 10 this season, I can feel it. The majority of pancakes/scoring happens in the second half, every game. I am convinced that high conditioning(70+) is the key to better performance at every position.

maybe so. We are going to try and get conditioning and toughness capped all the way and cap boosted when we can. should help a lot. We are also all run so we dont have to sue any of the pass block tech that you guys have.

Pretty much what my entire O-Line will look like. All will have 90+ run block tech and 75+ conditioning.

I agree that high conditioning is great at a lot of positions but it can also be misleading with stats due to players just being on the field more. More opportunities leads to more outrageous stats. With that said, I do wish I went with a bit more conditioning on a few of my lineman just to rack up more cakes.

But let's compare our guards:

TBBD

DUI Checkpoint Streaker: 148 Cakes
Andre the Giant Drunk: 316 Cakes
The most interesting guard in the world: 211 Cakes
Total: 675 Cakes

HOF

John Hannah: 309 Cakes
Bruce Matthews: 282 Cakes
Gene Upshaw: 285 Cakes
Total: 876

So is the conditioning actually making that big of a difference or is it just due to all the stats going towards two players?
My guards have conditioning in the 53-58 range.

Here's Hannah's build: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/175289

The Scout tool is so powerful and immensely useful. I can't recommend it enough, particularly for new coordinators.

If I wanted to compare efficiency, I'd take total plays and divide that by pancakes.

Andre the Drunk Giant - 1530 total plays (offense + ST) 316 pancakes. .21 pancakes per play
John Hannah - 1860 total plays, 309 cakes = .17 pancakes per play
Bruce Matthews - 1672 total plays, 282 pancakes = .17 pancakes per play
Gene Upshaw - 1910 total plays, 285 pancakes = .15 pancakes per play

Honestly, I think it's too hard to make a claim about conditioning based off of the circumstances here. It could be conditioning differences, it could also be that TB runs 11% more than HOF, and less pass blocking interactions equals more pancakes due to high run tech. It could be depth chart positioning on special teams, etc. Think the only way we'd really know is by comparing two all run teams.

I for one do think that shooting for 70 or more on a linemen would be preferable, if our understanding of how conditioning works is accurate.

This can never be repeated enough. If you're new to coaching, you need this tool. I never coached in any capacity before my current run This tool makes me look like I've been doing it forever.
