I think this is false. You get a 30% refund for SP and AP boosts. There is no refund for Career Boosts. I built a QB in both games...

GLB Classic
Build Cost: 300
Boosts: 9000
Equipment: 600 (I think I'm low on this)
-------------------------------------------
Total: 9900
- Refund: 7020
Total Cost: 2880

GLB2
Build Cost: 150
SP Boost: 1500
AP Boost: 750
Career Boost: 600
--------------------------------------------
Total: 3000
- Refund: 720
Total Cost: 2280

My math may be wrong and I only looked at QB, but T1 positions are actually cheaper on GLB2 than Classic by around 600 FP. T2 and T3 players will differ, but costs are fairly similar. It just feels worse because your flex bank doesn't rebound as much when you retire a player.

If my math is wrong, I'm sure someone will correct it and I'll apologize for my mistake.

That defeats the purpose of my push. The whole idea is that it is too expensive for a boost.

I don't disagree. Career boosts are expensive and the expense scales directly with the number of players you have. That's why you have to make decisions. There's no way in hell I'm paying out 11,400 flex to keep my Fury players around for 2 extra seasons of Vet. To me its not worth $23 a month to keep going (and that's assuming I could get the agents on my team career boost).

I'm fairly certain that the admins aren't going to change the pricing structure of the game anytime soon and that is a discussion around something that is NGTH.

They can tweak the structure, or the game dies.

How is Osiris pressing the renew team button counter to its design? Are you claiming that Osiris is hacking the site in some way to keep Whoville in Vet for so long? Or are you claiming that clicking buttons that the designers put there is somehow counter to their design?

No, but it's his normal look.

So are you saying that the reason career boots are so high is because the developers want the agents to reset after the 1st 2 Vet seasons and not play the last 2 Vet seasons? That is what I get from your "counter to design" statement. They are pushing team resets and not pushing playing 4 seasons in Vet.

If they just halved the price of playing in Vet, I bet there would be a ton of players sticking around Vet, which would produce a lot more money. I can tell you, I am not paying for all my players to stay at Vet for 4 seasons.

Wouldnt they want more Vet Teams and players. It means everyone saw through to the end.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. Players should get four seasons in Vet automatically. If they need to pay for those seasons they should at least not be penalized. It's a rip off.

Sorry my bad, I did not read the manual. I did not realize I was suppose to just let my team expire. I just figured the 500 FP I pay every season to renew my team was the way the game was designed. I have zero interest in playing rookie ball.

no one should. Rookie is just gimmick plays(see the rookie challenge) and it feels like a total disconnect compared to other levels.

All that said, Bort & Co built this game with a focus on the build process, not the plateau. If you feel the game is stacked against teams trying to build Vet dynasties, you're right. The point of the game is to build to Vet, enjoy 2-4 seasons there, and then start over fresh. If is completely understandable that you're frustrated by trying to play the game counter to its design.

I think that piece says it all. I'm fairly sure Bort or Corndog posted something very similar to what I said several seasons ago when the first round of Veteran teams hit the point of needing career boosts.

As for the frustration you face every season when turning over half of your roster, it is completely understandable that you're frustrated by trying to play the game counter to its design.

And, aside from the 300 FP per player from career boosts, how much do they make of players in Vet? Money is made by teams resetting and rebuilding, not remaining in Vet.

The cost of career boosts isn't what is causing the game to die off. The person who I think was the lead developer of the game had absolutely no faith in the ability for the game to sustain itself over time (and made that statement multiple times in the forums). That's not exactly a ringing endorsement of a product.

And, for the record, I actually agree with this. I'm strongly considering skipping rookie when I reset Fury.

Just because they don't want too, doesn't mean it's smart.

seems when the game was busy - they designed it so that there would be lots of turnover....so that one team could not dominate the #1 spot for 5, 10, 15 seasons. They wanted turnover - they wanted everyone to feel like they had a chance to rise to the top.

I think that was one reason they made career boosts so expensive - to discourage dynasties - and to encourage top team turnover.

IMO: it kind of made decent sense when the game was busy.

but now that the game is shrinking (less than 9000 players ldo) -it seems to create a lot more frustration and disappointment than benefit.

Add in that many people do not enjoy rookie ball - and it looks even uglier.

Yes - career boosts insanely - way too o expensive.
