I'm not sure that should matter at all. If you build an LB or S with great coverage skills, they shouldn't have some arbitrary penalty just because they aren't CBs.

drops from my scrims of the day

what are you shooting for here?

Drops happen -- even from stars in the NFL - every week I sit through a texans game where they talk about how Deandre Hopkins might have the best hands in the NFL -- and he proceeds to drop 1-2 per game.

Beyond that - your guys in this latest is sitting on 63-68 receiving hands...because you wanted to have 95 speed and 75 agility. Those are build choices you made. A super fast guy who doesn't catch great. Go watch some of Tedd Ginn's drops from the game last week....that's basically what you built. https://youtu.be/d0QCzmz4X0U?t=127 There are lots more videos out there that show tons of his drops.

Are you saying you want a 63 hands guy to catch everything? You're crazy. Quit spending so much on speed and invest in...you know....catching...if you want to catch the ball.

I believe the point of the thread, before you trolled the shit out of it with your whining about the Texans, was that Uncontested Drops seem to be broken - it was followed up with additional support in that WRs currently seem to have a higher catch rate when when being heavily covered than they do when they are standing still completely wide open staring back at the QB.

Not sure what that has to do with anything you just posted...

because of how zone works wide open players can't just catch everything. im more interested in wr's that don't fall over on wide open catches or qbs that actually hit wrs in stride. these are the more rarities of glb2. and i think that actually hurts the hard hitting defenses.

maybe you should re-read the thread.

I see absolutely zero "additional support in that WRs currently seem to have a higher catch rate when when being heavily covered than they do when they are standing still completely wide open staring back at the QB".

are you high? there is no data at all in this thread except for a couple plays of a mid 60s guy dropping an open ball --- and you crying about a playoff loss.

Sov I like and trust and respect -- but he also didn't offer up any data.

lol

but seriously though. you would probably get more reliability from a hard hitting zone defense if players actually were hit in stride and stayed upright in order to be hit rather than falling over 75% of their receptions. just looking at the fumbles that happen to hb's in this game you would think the wr fumble rate would sky rocket.

recent changes to catches in general were counter productive, still way too many catches in tight cov and double coverage and seems to be no bonus at all for catching the ball when the receiver is uncovered or against a LB or safety. too lazy to go double check, but i remember an "increase to catching rolls when receiver is facing the QB" but i swear the cutbacks on plays like WR2 route on WR hook are worse than ever.

just to help ya out

Ah - that's the problem. You think that is data and proof.

Now things are starting to make sense.

Yeah, no data... but I see the same thing. On both sides of the ball. We get a lot of double coverages catches, and seem to drop the ball more often when completely wide open. But yeah, no data... just peception

i kinda disagree about the safety and lb coverage thing. but maybe i just don't have good enough cover lb's or ss's.

I'm saying if I invest in a WR getting open, when he gets open he should make the damn catch.

63 catching is more than enough to catch a pass when you are wide open.... and Please You are acting like that is the only replay of a wide open drop. go back in your troll hole.
