No because DEs always engaged a blocker. A LB might or might not engage a blocker. The PRP is just in case he engages a blocker and that blocker could easily be a HB who will get plowed over by a power rushing LB.

Do you think it's possible that Pursuit might play into avoiding the blocker? I know it's always been assumed, or maybe it's just me, that it was the rush defense version of Blitz Awareness, but given the description, it makes me wonder--especially if paired with evasive tactics.

I don't know. I'm just crap-shooting right now. It's seemed like my DE often bypasses OTs altogether when he's played on evasive.

Pursuit affects their ability to avoid blockers, yes... how much it would work with a DE vs OT, I'm not sure.

What about a LB avoiding the OT or other side guard or HB?

think pursuit only works in run situations though

My biggest problem with the full pass rush build for a LB is that it takes too long, the LB already has to travel further than the DEs do. You add another 10-20 ticks to win and regain momentum from power rushing a HB and the QB has already passed the ball. If you can't get to the QB before tick 40 it's too late against most teams.
