Of course, I absolutely agree with you. Isn't that the biggest point of the off-season period? Mass testing of new game mechanics?

They should still be releasing changes on first day of offseason though. If they released the original outside rushing pathing a day before the new season started, a lot of teams would've been screwed the whole season. They need time for actual teams to scrim and test out the new changes.

The biggest point of the off-season period is to allow teams to sign players. Changes being tested is a bonus.

Part of signing players is to tell them how to build them which is directly related to game changes.

- tweaks to zone coverage (not sure it is possible to fix)
- made long passes slightly more difficult to complete
- made short passes slightly easier to complete
- 5 new defensive plays
- tweaked pocket awareness to make it slightly more valuable

This statement illustrates all that is wrong in GLB world.

You shouldn't be dictating on how to build a guy...

No but you can guide them on how to build a guy and give them pointers on what works and what doesn't. Honestly, I don't care because I only make my own guys for my team. But I would like to know what is new so I can build my own guys to the changes.

YES! YES! YES!

And as for pocket awareness, PLEASE let the QB scramble more often when his tactic is set to "Scramble Often".

I would actually be extremely happy with that, trying to not get my hopes up too much on any Zone stuff.

Add in more offensive plays to Singleback Big, Diamond, and Singleback Spread and I agree.

Dictating may be a harsh term, but recommending a player build to fit your scheme is no different that real teams drilling players to develop the skills they need for their schemes. In the real world thats called coaching, so I cant figure how that is wrong in the GLB world.

Not only that, but you can't really "fix" a build much based on sim changes. A build is what it is based on caps.

Several times a season I'll go through teams I own (or coordinate) and give suggestions based on how I think a player will be used but its 100% up to the agent to follow my advice. If I'm signing someone and they're not built how I like, I simply won't sign them.

It took, what, three seasons of changes to "fix" running? You really think that one coder will be able to fix an entire defensive scheme, correct the passing game, add new (balanced) plays, and fix a QB skill?

I give CDog lots of credit, but I'm also a realist.

Making long passes more difficult isn't a very good suggestion. If they are harder to catch, it isn't going to change much of the gameplay. Play calling doesn't change. If you get to the point it's harder than short passes to complete the passing game will be entirely shit.

The goal shouldn't be hey how can we make passing % under 25%. That's stupid. Let's give cbs better abilities for interceptions and continue to develop defensive plays that are usable for some of the better plays in the game.

When you just constantly nerf shit everyone loses.

long pass shouldnt be harder to catch. instead long pass by weak armed qbs should be further easier to pick off. too many lame duck qbs here still.
