I personally play adopt a team where i pick a struggling team and cordinate one side of the ball and help teach the other cordinator if they want or need the help. This way i know i can boost morale of the agents and coaches and help the coaches and agents learned. I cant tell you how many i have actually helped but if its at least 1 than it is worth it.

I am bearing the brunt of my team solo but last season I finally reached out for assistance and I found my main issue was improper player creation. I am using Stobie's tool and have spent the this season and the next figuring out defense. Next season, I will be starting with a new team to see about turning everything around. Sad that my current players will be trashed as I won't get that time back, but hopefully the next time around it'll produce better results.
As it stands right now, I am not fully comfortable trying to assist another team as a coordinator as I am still learning tactics and effective plays.

I'd argue their isn't enough players playing the game. Too many leaving, not enough coming in. I feel like it is slowly dying, and I'd also argue that there is too little trash talking/rivalries

Last season I purchased the Hippos and began the season running both offense and defense. As the season progressed I was reading up on how GLB2 was dying and it needed new blood in the ranks. This gave me the idea of having some of my agents on my team try out on offense and defense. I had two guys splitting Ladder and Season games, while a third controlling the defense. As with trying new things all of it didn't work. I set up some scrims so they could practice. One of the OCs disappeared off the face of the earth missing the whole thing. The other OC did game plan for one... then used all of my plans I had in the system already for the rest lol. I did get one gem out of it. Ike016. He's a gem in the rough fellas. He did a fine job on defense during his time and would still be if I hadn't already had another DC lined up for this season in IBackStar. Give him a chance sometime to DC for one of your teams.

I had hoped they would intensify that bonus this season so we could start seeing teams that exploit the same 6 plays every game take a step back, there is no reason to reward that kind of laziness. You teams know who you are and no doubt those teams would be in here crying that they worked hard putting together that 6 play book they never change, but there needs to be more incentive to the players who are game planning day in and day out not just the guys that figured out these few plays exploit the system and win the majority of games.
I am pretty sure there is no play diversity bonus.

Aw I feel left out of that story now lol.
To the actual subject, I've felt some of the things mentioned in this thread along the way. I think I've gotten to know a few more people around here now and have a small network. But started off going it myself last season and brought in Rob (who I had worked with before my deployment break) and Jag to just help me get things in order on the team. Things got better quick and this season reached out for agents instead of going it alone. So I thank those guys who are willing to jump onto yet another squad to help get things straight.

Personally I think it needs to progress faster with more plays. If you come out with 30 plays every season offense and defense (so 15 a piece) it takes away the I am gonna step back from the game stuff. Shit doesn't get old that way. And ya it has to be progressing with decent plays. You can't just introduce a lot of nonsense plays. Which I honestly don't think is hard to do imo knowing the game as well as I do.

This game is not to kind on new/inexperienced players.
An example would be a team one of my players was on last season. It wasn't a rob. team, or a dee team, or a Para team, it was some new guy's team. he was a nice guy but had no idea what he was getting into. So he hires some equally new guy coach. We got destroyed by any team with a pulse and just lost the others badly. On the team were a lot of newish agents with one or two players trying to get a feel for the game. Because they were new they really had no chance of ever working with a good owner or coach. The noob coach started PMing all the TEs and receivers telling them their builds were bad and that is why we couldn't pass. He literally called 42 different pass plays from every formation in that game and I think he set the depth chart according to who had the coolest name or something. Needless to say it appears the owner and coach are gone along with most if not all of the new agents that were on the team.
We had those agents, they were interested in the game and they slipped right through our fingers.
Networks seem to be getting too strong. Everyone is looking for experienced guys, forum guys, guys you have heard of before. If you are just an average Joe new agent you are likely doomed to a team like I just described and probably will not be around too long. I don't think there is a realistic solution, it is what it is.

Eh new guys are generally going to find themselves in a hole early on. It is what it is. The best thing you could possibly do to somewhat thwart that is consistently change the playbook every season. Which is somewhat impossible for the run game at this point. But for the pass game, it would end up being just as new to everyone else as it is to new players. Though the same thing will always run true. The advanced guys who study the game will always be several steps ahead of the new guys. They just know what they are doing regardless of what is thrown at them. They continually rang true in GLB1 despite any change that happened.

I'm doing my part of talking trash and starting rivals. Once my zone starts wreaking havoc, Jabba starts truck'en fools and Lando is breaking ankles, it'll have more merit.

It really isn't hard to build a competitive team. Just read the forums for advice on builds, tactics and playbooks.
Hell I run a zone defense and all run offense but I can tell you the best passing plays and man defense plays. I can even tell you how to build players for those schemes.
If noobs are really interested and motivated to play, they will find info on how to be competitive.

Dude your teams aren't competitive and you can't even build good dots for what you focus on since like 6 seasons, coming from you it's pretty funny honestly.

That's because I'm not making cookie cutter builds and schemes like everybody else.
Xars has all his players builds open and he runs the same plays every game. Just follow those builds and you will have a top 10 team. Or go read the forums.
My point is there are plenty of resources available to field a competitive team.
