I'm not going to rain on your GLB1 thread. So I'll do it here. There are two major reasons why I could no longer play GLB1. The first was the extremely long training time for you're player to be relevant. Having to basically just focus on 1 attribute at a time was boring and required a large of micromanaging. That's not including the luck factor when it comes to rolling the best equipment. The second was the absolute control over tactics, which also required tedious micromanaging. The smallest mistake could be fatal, and it's annoying watching teams constantly running the ball four times for a first down when you know they should be logically punting in that 4th and 2 situation.
GLB2 offers some semblance of immediate impact of your builds. Also doesn't require ungodly amounts of scouting and tactics setting, basically there is much less micromanaging in GLB2. Granted people can still spend hours scouting and setting tactics in GLB2 but it's really not as common and once again not really required at all
