I think pass defense is better...

And yes, in my eyes decreased blocking in the future will make heart/toughness/quick read/pass awareness even more important in the future due to quicker pressure. This is something QB builders will have to take into account as they build their ideal passers.

I kind of wish they'd make tackling ability scale at a small, but exponential rate. like X^(1.11) where X = your tackle score. That way defenders who have low tackling still get trashed by powerbacks, but those that invest in like 75+ tackling still have a chance

I've actually thought there was some kind of hidden change to passing this offseason, but the more I think about it tougher schedules are probably the answer. The first 16 games last season I faced 2 very good teams with 1 being a tier below. The first 16 games this season I have faced 9-10 depending on how you want to count them.

People have just found better ways to attack TE Drive/WR Screens/Chalice combination. Plus I think in the last couple seasons a 3rd and long was far more a gimme than it is now.

edit: Well...a gimme for superstar studded receiving teams anyways.

Saul benefitted from their scheduling.

Judging the game by HoF stats is lulzy anyways.

I was joking about the secret passing nerf.

Every season is unique. A ton of old vet teams left the tier. Many of those teams were terrible at defense. I think it's a mix of the current crop of teams, GLB2 Scout and new plays.

It's not like anyone other than Air Raid appears to have had the wheels fall off is it?

LZ Boys stats are down. Can't tell if opponent mix is the reason but my QBs comp% is almost at his Rookie level rather than Soph-Journey.

random question: how much has stobie's scouter attributed to a decrease in passing effectiveness?

I think it's more the Tiger blitzes. Parab00n did a nice job mixing in those with Man Base in our game today.

My unrattled QB would take a Tiger sack, then when rattled he played Man Base. The rattle would wear off and then the next Tiger would get a hurry/ sack.

I scout a lot trying to make my own Pass D better and I can say the scout tool has given me great insight.

Some of the lurk plays are really good too. Just goes to show that new plays are very helpful.

Has a lot less to do with the tackling skills not being high enough and more to do with getting eaten up by blocks and getting caked. A lot of teams come to main and cry about their team tackling skills and ignore that the safety was the biggest culprit that led to their morale spiral.

I agree. Powerbacks are a lot less of a threat when you have guys getting off blocks and gang tackling.

Honestly i think passing teams just constrict their playbook too much, making them predictable. Southsides qb is having a career year http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/111769
