This is why we get the pass rush tactics setting for all defensive players.
Pursuit only comes into play once the QB tucks the ball to start running and becomes a ball carrier or once a receiver catches a pass and becomes a ball carrier.

Nope. I'm pretty comfortable with:
Evasive tactics = target QB, path around potential blockers considerably. Combo tactics = target QB, path somewhere between straight and around blockers, possibly variably. Power tactics = target QB, path as straight as possible to QB, disregard blockers.
Then, when handoff or pass occurs, use blitz awareness to recognize the event asap. Once event recognition occurs via blitz awareness dice roll win, change pathing logic from pass rush tactics to pursuit and target new ball carrier.
The only grey area for me is when the blitz awareness check occurs on a pass attempt, what logic does the pass rusher switch into before the catch is made? Do they go straight to pursuit and start towards the target before they're a ball carrier? Or does blitz awareness serve a similar function to cov tech/man/zone awareness for coverage while the ball is in flight?
ya im fairly positive it has nothing to do with blitzing as well. Mostly because if it did you would think that Bort would have made it part of the blitzing through the oline code to which he has already come out and said that was Blitz Awareness.

Not positive, but I'm leaning towards this. Just like man/zone awareness, it'll help them recognize when the QB no longer has the ball. More of that awareness, the more likely you'll recognize it asap.

Wait, is there actually code to help blitzers leak through the o-line? Interesting...

Ya the Oline was pretty much swiss cheese at first. Like any sort of inside blitz was an insta sack so he tied blitz awareness to it and probably other things too I am sure but that was the main thing he made mention to.

Ya I doubt Bort was like hey ill just tie in Blitz Awareness as the deterrent for insta sacks and call it a day. But maybe I give this game too much credit.
