The problem is conditioning. It doesn't even matter.

Look at this game: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/154007

QB ran for 650 yards on 78 carries. He had no energy for most of the game and was just running all over the field.

I mean... a team having success running their QB 70 times a game is almost as realistic as a team passing 80-90 times a games.

We should ban all passing teams, too! Or at least can we have a play that drops 11 players into coverage?

So your argument is it is broken so leave it broken?

Actually I just disagree that it's broken. It can be stopped, just like an all passing team. You just have to build a good defense.

Okay - but are we building a good football defense or simply building a good defense to take advantage of the AI? For example (now I am basing this from a rookie perspective on a rookie team) - if I set my defense to call zero edge blitz 90-100 percent of a game against an all pass team - is this football strategy or just simply taking advantage of the AI? I've watched teams use this to great success and have also stolen this concept for my own team. I believe the link I used above - the team uses this tactic.

But regardless if my examples suck. A 1000 yards rushing in a single game. That is broken. How can this be argued?

I wouldn't base anything off of Rookie ball. I think you'll see that most Rookie teams take advantage of similar spam plays both offensively and defensively (Hell, my rookie team runs QB rollout and Zeb Spam). In the end, this game is supposed to be balanced around Veteran. You can't change something that will balance rookie without adversely affecting the higher tiers.

Well, that is a good point. But I will find out as the seasons progress. But a thousand yards...in one game...? Rookie ball or not...WTFO?

What stops passing plays; At least has a chance to stop all passing plays. What stops QB rollout doesn't have any chance to stop weakside or inside running.

You are gonna pull your hair out day after day calling plays like a football coach. No football game is ever going to hold up to that fantasy. Not even madden.

Coding has it's realistic boundaries. You are always going to try and take advantage of those boundaries as best as possible.

How can it be argued? Other people boring then to far less. I know that answer sucks to hear but they aren't putting 1000 yards per opponent either.

QB rushing gets a rep for being cheap because its very effective against teams who don't plan for it. But QB running is only viable if you are either All-rushing or only rushing the QB from the GL formation, and the lack of usable QB run plays compared to HB run plays makes it much easier to put guys in the right places to stop it. The fact is that most QBs will not be able to break any tackles, and if they are able to then then they are also slow as shit. At the highest level QB running is at best a complement to a solid HB-based running game. QB running is so easy to shut down on its own

Qb rushing mostly gets it's flack from over using a formation where there is almost always more blockers than defensive people. If gl wasn't a major element of qb rushing it wouldn't just be a hey let's run 50 qb rushes and hope we score tds type offense. The other formations are done well through good planning. Gl is a hey I'll either fuck you through qb rollout and pitch or I'll jam you down the middle. There isn't a much other middle ground. And pls don't try and argue to me like off tackle weak is gong to the right.
