It is interesting to see how your builds and team concept can compete with stronger competition. While I agree with Mez that more upper ladder rivalries and the battle for the best builds is fun, I think the David and Goliath approach we have now has a lot of potential and I find those games to sometimes be the most thrilling.

Just not Jman vs Vet...

I haven't seen contain expert silver be anything good at all on my LB Pro Bowler. I'm not saying it's a bad SA, but at silver it's not firing soon enough.

Once you leave Rookie/Soph, I think a tighter window makes more sense. Plus/minus 20 is a range of 39 teams for 16 games, notwithstanding movement within those rankings. That wide of a range is needed for Rookie/Soph because if you're at the top of the Ladder, you have only 19 slots to schedule 16 games. There will be some turnover which adds to it, but the games needed/games available ratio is high in Rookie and Soph so you need a 20 rank spread.

With Global Ladder games from then on, I could see a 12-15 rank spread until you get to Pro.
