Blitzing every play allowed our 90+ hands and 70+ speed WRs and TEs (Gold Prime Time, Gold Head Fake) to get open on almost every play. Yes, they did get a few sacks on him but gold prime time cleared up any morale lost very quickly. TT might work against balanced or weak passing attacks that aren't ready for it, but you are going to get burned by the elite passing teams if you are having to run blitzing plays to get it to fire maybe 4-5 times a game. This is a TT Spam game:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/115642They (Eugene) ran 75 offensive plays. On each play, 2 (Fun Time) OLBs were set up to Blitz. So that's 150 blitzes.
TT fired 55 times. That's a fire % of 36.6%. The OLBs are a 3-man squad that all have 73 Intimidation and Gold TT. A higher Intim level of say 100 should increase the fire rate. So if there's just one TT LB with 100 Intim, the fire rate should be about 40% on blitzes. If you run 80 offensive plays and the D blitzes 30% of the time, that's 24 chances at a 40% fire rate which should be about 10 TT's per game. It could easily be more by using a 3 man D-Line and just blitzing a RO on every play as your 4th lineman.
That would give you a 4 man rush with 80 blitz chances and 32 TT firings.
So if you think 4-5 firings per game are a lot, you're not in the right universe.
