Other undefeated rookie teams:

Bug thread I just wrote on the rookie elo problem:

Not really a problem. Teams that had an identity or existence prior and reset to rookie are at the top of the elo while teams that freshly started and had nothing were at the bottom.

That's still a problem whether intentional or not. The "new" undefeated teams are ranked lower than teams that are either 0-4 or only have one win.

I'm a new rookie owner don't see a problem. My team and others in those 3 leagues have to earn our way up.

The teams that reset are facing other teams that reset so they shouldn't drop as fast.

I'm pretty sure If The bad veteran rookie teams lose today and the good fresh rookies win you will start to see them passing each other.

If the new rookies are good it will balance itself out. I remember last season coach_Dean and Sarasota Swordfish (fresh rookie team) were 1-2 to start the season, ended up top 15 with 4 or 5 losses and dumping his roster with 6 or so games to play. But even with success he couldn't handle whatever and ended things.

I think as someone else said, it's to ease new ownership into the game.

I understand the intention behind doing it but I don't necessarily agree with it.

Thats strange... Last years rookie ball went strictly by record until we got to the playoffs.

We have no idea how big a problem it is until the new teams that are going undefeated start to catch the old teams that are going winless. The fact that the 4-0s haven't caught the 0-4s is a bad sign that it's a pretty big gap.

I mean, it's Elo, so the ratings will eventually get right, but based on past experience it'll take about 2 seasons.

Botton line, without this getting fixed, it'll be completely impossible for a newly created team to win the rookie ladder - if you didn't have a team that dropped down to rookie this season, you aren't even in the running, even if you're undefeated. That's clearly a problem.

There's no reason to be "pretty sure" - we have no idea what the gap in rating is.

5-0: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/team/1177
0-4: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/team/92

5th win wasn't enough to catch them, maybe if the Dragons drop to 0-5 today. Or maybe we'll still see a 10-0 team behind an 0-10 team, we have no idea.

It's broken, and broken elo means broken ladder games. The 5-0 Village have 0% chance of being paired up against the #1 rookie team.

Being on the current #1 Rookie team, I want this fixed - even if it means we're not #1 anymore. I don't want to win the ladder because half the teams weren't allowed to compete in it.

As the GM of the current #1 rookie team I'd rather face better competition and lose then face half the field and win.

Dragons dropped to 0-5 and are still ahead of the 5-0 team.

Next time I will put up my own rankings and not the ladder rankings. One more league left to play. Should get it up tonight.

I'd probably prefer that to the ladder rankings since we already know what we're going to get there.

Amost done and let me say this. rankings will be determined by strength of games played and win-losses
