If you call -50.5 yards rushing a balanced attack... rofl

Either way, their other 2 opponents were on-par with CPU teams, so the Hoplites stats are going to be a bit inflated until they have time to play more dominant teams in ladder games. Which is why I said, give it until game 6-7 before really criticizing the numbers.

And they Play LogZilla next, so don't assume they'll be giving up any run yardage then either lol.

Since you are doing all this by hand, it would probably be too much work. But I think a better way to evaluate pass or run defense would be to base it on how many yards you allow to a team based on how much they normally gain.

Top teams that face top rush teams might keep them to 200 yards rushing, but it will hurt their rush defense rating. If that team normally gains 400-500 yards though, then that was a solid rush defense effort.

A great defense is a defense that consistently holds teams to less yardage and points than the team would normally get.

too many people in here complainin' about something Aeir does for free IMO

If other folks want a different type of power rankings, there's a whole section of the forum page at the bottom dedicated to writing stuff and a "Post" button.

Thanks for the write-up, Aeir!

Thanks for doing this, appreciate the work you do Aeir. Definitely adds to the game having something like this.

Honestly, people need to understand how statistics work. Any formula based on performance needs data, its been 3 of 30 games. 10% of potential data.

Aeir you do a great job keep it up.

Did you used to be Olaf's Warm Hugs? I don't remember an ASU team before.

Discussion and complaining are two different things. I'm sure Aeir appreciates feedback and healthy discussion regarding statistics. I have posted multiple times that I appreciate the work he does. Let him speak for himself

Actually we had 30 games last season too. Our current ladder ranks are a representation of that and can have a heavier weight

Which is already factored in. I just remember reading all the complaints last season and as it went along less and less complaints. This is how current data works. It filters itself as more data is presented. The 30 games of last season can only be represented in what they mean to the elo for current ladder ranking.

Yes, we used to be Olaf.

I originally named it Olaf's Warm Hugs (from the Disney movie Frozen) because I'm an elementary school teacher and wanted to be able to play the games live when I had a chance at work (when I'm playing against a team with appropriate names anyways, haha). The kids would get SUPER pumped watching dot ball when they know that the team is named after Frozen, haha.

Who is complaining? Would you rather we have no discussion? Should he just post the power rankings, we give it a thumbs up and have no responses?

Just to clarify my own post, totally not a complaint on my part. I think this is awesome and huge props to Aeir for taking the time to do this.

The "sad face" may have made my post seem whiny, but it wasn't intended that way. Arizona State will just have to keep winning to get some respect from the media. (Like we always have to do... haha)

Who said you were complaining exactly? No one has mentioned names. A LOT of whats has been said can be taken by a few people to be complaints. Again no one named names.

I think everyone needs to take a chill pill and stop being so sensitive. We are having healthy discussion.
