The bears didnt win a championship in 1922! You mean 1921?

That was a pretty glorious screwjob by Halas LOL. "yea come and play us in a harmless exhibition game the day after you played a game in akron, i swear I won't argue that it should become the de facto championship game"

IMO, There should be separate calculations for division winner and wild card. I.e. division winners should all be decided first then wildcard should be decided based on the 2 (or more) remaining teams that have an equal record and aren't division winners.

I said that the last two seasons, but no respond or change from masters of the game...

Agreed. Though prefer the system I laid out because if you have a CPU team (or a really really bad one) in your division not only do you get two easy wins out of it... you also get huge tiebreaking advantages by shutting them out and taking them behind the woodshed in points scored.

H2H may not 100% favor the "better team" but it does favor the team that earned it. Also going net differential in games played between the two along with sequential tiebreaking makes more sense.

Under no logical train of though should giving up 260 points versus the 257 we did surrender have gotten us into the post-season.

I think they can stick with their system, but they have to lay out, how it works exactly. Answer the questions:

What happens in a 2-team-intradivision-tie? What happens in a 2-team-interdivision-tie? What happens in a 3+-team-intradivision-tie? What happens in a 3+-team-interdivision-tie? Are all ties broken at the same time for one league (seems to be the status quo, should be changed)?

Put that in the FAQ-section and people wont be surprised, when they miss out/ make the playoffs.

Or just make a logical system and post that in the FAQ. Right now and I know C-Dog has lots to do; its just easier to code this "on the cheap" and not have to explain it. IF they did lots more would complain because of some obviously illogical flaws.

Based on corndogs responses I don't think he even knows the tiebreak sequence 100%. He might be trying to contact Bort to figure it all out.

I agree, seems like the only one, who really knows whats going on, doesnt care for the last couple of seasons.

I'm guessing the tiebreaker code just got copy/pasta'd over here and with divisions in play, and that tiebreaker code probably only modified for them, it's nowhere as clean as it should be.

This season it seems, that it broke down entirely. We had some weird things going on in the last couple of things but only one or two every season. This time there are a lot of weird things going on... Taurus, Tiger, Eisenhower...

Based on my involvement when this came up several seasons ago, Bort stood behind the code and said it was working the way he intended. My only concern now is that, despite my initial thoughts, it seems things aren't working consistently. There's obviously something none of us know or something was overlooked due to complexities of multiple division tie-breakers compared to the single division tie-breakers in Classic.

That's the standard answer. Even if it obviously not true. We had multiple situations in the last seasons, where the tiebreakers obviously didnt work. Still nothing happened. We had a #5 seed winning a league in a 4-team playoff. Works as intended... Sure... It probably takes a lot of time and effort to rebuild a new playoff tiebreaking code, but the current one is broken!

I don't disagree. Based on his logic, though, it made sense. Not that I agreed, but I could reconcile his answer. This seasons inconsistencies can't be reconciled.

I benefited from the OP but agree that something is screwed up. I went to bed thinking music city missed out.

I was saving a bunch of SP on my D to spend on run stuffing skills if we played the Simpsons. Now we are playing a different team and I've spent about 4,000 SP each on run stuffing and I'm not nearly as scared of the running abilities of the other teams that got in.
