The issue is they restrict buying teams to sophomore and rookie, should be allowed to buy CPU teams in other levels as well.

I like glb2 for the constant involvement but agree with laggo. I'm very New to glb2 but it seems as though there isn't build advice or discussion because it's all cookie cutter. To be a success you have to have this this and this. Cookie cutter is boring....

I agree as well - for the most parts builds really only have minor variation possibilities -- as you climb the tiers - there are choices (which to focus on first....which stat needs a boost....etc). but otherwise - fairly similar.

Seems like really - most of the player building is determined at player creation when you're setting your max's.

That feel when GLB2 players are experiencing unemployment.

The biggest issue is Chemistry.

If you're team isn't winning by the end of Sophmore, you need to make changes. If these changes are significant, you'll end up struggling through Seasoned as well. Which means that maybe, maybe you'll have an improved team by Journeyman. So if everything works out well, you'll have two good seasons before you are thrown into the best of the best in Vet.

Is it any wonder then, that restarting to Rookie and optimizing builds, plus avoiding a season of Chem hits is preferable?

The risk-reward of your time and money significantly favors restarting over rebuilding. And that's it sports fans.

Buying higher level teams won't change that (though it will guarantee you a Rookie team when you restart it next season).

Which is why we need to get a chemistry boost for players signed in the offseason - sign before day 1, get 25ish chem to start. It doesn't fix all problems, but it makes logical changes less onerous.

TBH, replacing a player that went inactive should give you a chem boost to the player that you are replacing. Hiring a player whose team was sold should give a chem boost. There should be a chem boost in the offseason. Rookie teams should start with 50 chem.

Essentially, the only time you should get 0 chem is if you replace someone midseason who wasn't an inactive.

I like these chem suggestions. This coming from a team who will never have chem issues.

GLB 1 is far better hands down.. GLB 2 is ok if you own a team with all your own players, about the only way to guarantee you will have a team to play for lulz.

2 for sure....Once you get to the end of 1, it seems if you dont have an exact build, you will not be able to defeat the teams that do. At least now all it takes is somewhat decent builds...but the right playbook and tactics at the right time.

Yeah, it would be cool to do it here, but Bort didn't buy that code from Tecmo

Most of the people saying 2 ITT have recently signed up (relatively speaking). How many of you have actually legitimately played GLB "classic"?

my original account i started classic in season 4. Played till season 18. Left for rl situations but had made my own team and just started pro league when i left. When i recently thought about a football app for my phone i ran across glb2, and after getting this situated and everything retired the 66 players i had on classic who because of being built on aging rather then games played were all vastly garbage by then. So no I dont have the experience that some have however I did play it for a while and spent an ok amount overall on the game.

Overall I think glb2 has potential to offer more however i find so far in research this game is far too cookie cutter and i honestly dont see it lasting without variety. Which really sucks because classic at least aloud for a lot of options (some far more viable then others, but some worked decently without cookie cutter because of scheme, oc, dc or whatever)

I choose 2 but not by much and one of the factors is also because Bort n Company gave up rather then implement into classic.
