Well, the SA triggers from the time a tackle is about to be attempted, so you are going to get a little more yardage than if you made it from the time the tackle was completed.
When I think of a QB sliding IRL, I figure "he's going to get less yards than if he fought off the tackle, but a little more than if he just stopped and took a knee."
