I disagree about your conclusion regarding talent, just look at #15 -- the Sacramento Hornets, they are a very high quality team in Eris League. They are a pretty consistent tough fight for Yorick's Vase Breakers there. Homage jokes, but DD (#16) has placed into a league championship with Lost Lounge. Tampa Bay (#19) was in a playoff match up, and Monster Island (#21) just beat the #4 team on the ladder to get into its league championship.
What you guys are doing is huge for building the GLB2 community. It's a real, volunteer contribution. And I think a lot of teams on the lower rungs might try to compete to get a mention, strengthening that community.
I'll give you Sacramento. But DD has some pretty questionable losses and TB has been crushed by the top ten. Monster island hasnt been the same since the loss to cobra Kai, sure they beat Harrisongbirg but I thinks that's more Tdiddy's fault than anything he really hasn't put in the effort he used to.
