they have done that in every euro and WC since i began watching which was maybe 86

Like I said on the Lounge, Portugal is one very good player and a lot of mediocre players. And watching the Germany games, I really do think the US is a better team than they are if you consider both entire rosters. Germany just ground Portugal into nothing, and yet when they played Ghana, they could neither grind them down, nor ever really step things up to match pace with them. Sure, Germany's subs helped give them a short lived spark, but it was short lived. The US, on the other hand, was able to match pace with Ghana the entire match. Given all that, I like the US's chances against a weak Portugal team with a single superstar.

The trick will be to see if Ronaldo wakes up from the lethargy he displayed against Germany or not, and if the US can match him if he does.

Besides Donovan the US never had a goal scorer and that was obvious in the Ghana match as well. Dont expect them to score one vs Germany. Portugal will have a complete new Defense, so I see chances there

GG Cobra you guys played really well; we couldn't get rolling! We got some lucky turnovers to keep the game a lot closer than it was. Also fuck end of half logic; didn't get a shot at a field goal when well within range thanks to the amazing unchangable tactics.
