So, my thotz after watching a bit of the new stuffs

Yay! And it does look like they're actually doing a bit better, but definitely want to see more plays versus the outside runs.

This one is worrisome. During the scrim I just had, I had lead blockers not blocking at all even though the lowest lead block awareness on any of them is 40. I also had guys on the HB Sweep who were doubling up one guy and ignoring the guy who blew past them to make the tackle in the backfield. The blocking just ended up looking a mess.

Also, I think it's having way more of an impact on my inside runs than my outside. But I need a few more games to make any definite complaints/observations here.

I like this as it feels more 'real'. This actually seems to get back to people's complaints about mediocre teams finding success with QB Rollout. Might create problems on returns tho, especially for pass-first teams who were already at a disadvantage.

Not sure why that was needed if the above could have fixed the problem of HB's at QB. HB's and TE's line up at WR at all levels of football. TE's line up at FB regularly as well. OLB's line up at DE. This didn't make sense when I first asked about it way back when, and it makes less sense now. You already have skill caps and costs that make lining up say a TE at FB not optimal for lead blocking since FB's are naturally better at it. Not sure why you need to pile on an make this worse.

Oh, and before people think this is some kind of self serving complaint...I have two FB's so don't need TE's to backup. I never run OLB's at DE. And I care not at all about lining up my HB's and TE's at WR since I don't run plays where it matters.

Does this mean we're never going to see the starts of seasons without SP's? Cuz that was becoming a sorta tradition around here

Meh, even if they doubled OOP penalty to 10%, FBs and TEs will still be better blockers than WRs. SAs matter.

Ya. I wasn't worried about the blocking part. I don't run any plays where I care if my WR's can block.

Heck, I don't even run any plays where I have OT's at BTE because I have three pure run blocking TE's.

It just seemed a silly thing to change as long as Corny fixed HB's lining up at QB.

*shrugs*

The change I'm most concerned about is the general lowering of blocking. It seems a bit heavy, and is going to skew things even more in favor of passing teams over running teams since QB's can handle sack avoidance pretty much on their own whereas HB's are not making very many runs without good blocking.

Yes to the blocking part, no to ur OOP thoughts...too many team run with FBs and TEs at WR for their outside rushes. Needs some fix which hopefully happened

this is what I am talking about why was Out of Position penalty raised when solving this issue it has nothing to do with it really and affects other aspects of the game why should i suffer a higher penalty when I want to slot an FS in for a CB when the main reason for doing so was to stop these QB rollout problematic type plays in the first place.....

Another change? I haven't seen this before:

(qb fumble - recovered without falling to the ground and run in)

My FBs who play HB had surprised me. I wasn't expecting much more than 2 really really cheap special teamers who occasionally pass blocked. Then they started catching passes, and QBs holding in the backs to block took an act of the almighty Bort. So I started taking up their catching attributes and was pleasantly surprised. Oh well, they can go back to being not worth thinking about anymore.

I have seen quite a few fumble recoveries where guys just pick up the ball without falling and run.

OK, no more GL QB rollout strong exploits then.

Ok - my observations after having a real game (thanks for clarification about the fumble recovery in the air...I guess that play has just eluded me)

Outside Blocking: the WR / CB block is no longer magnetized - if the WR doesn't get into proper position (in front) - the CB gets by. Definitely seems like a positive change (and my teams makes its money on outside runs).

Blocking in the open field harder to maintain - could definitely see this (in my opinion - based on 1 game) - my blockers were getting off their blocks and making tackles when the ball carrier was right next to them. This was a very good change (and is something that will probably effect the QB rollout as well

I didn't notice any real difference on special teams

I do have some TE's who play WR at times -- I didn't notice them being crippled...and didn't notice them being dominant.
