Great call Laggo!

Thing I have noticed with corners is they don't seem rotate their bodies in the right direction and end up having to do full spins just to find the WR again.

Coverage is bogus right now, you could have 100 in all cb skills an wr's will still be making catches like nothing ever happened. This needs to get fixed soon as most games come down to does the wr drop the ball this time on his own since the man covering him is a non factor.

The CB that bhall linked on that play (my CB) is a perfect example of the current problems with coverage. You can't really claim that he is lacking for his level in any coverage skill with 91 MA, 96 CT, 51 Def, 50 Sprinting, 48 Quickness, 40 Footwork, and 30 balance, but whenever a WR makes a cut, it seems that he has to make a full circle before he can follow the cut. Add on top of that the fact that Footwork says it helps with back pedaling yet CBs don't seem to be able to back pedal in this game, and you get dumb stuff like that link.
And this says everything
This issue has been driving me absolutely nuts. I've called 'perfect' defenses against 2 teams recently and lost the games (perfect in the sense that the playcalling was spot on to counter the opponent's gameplan). I almost lost to an inactive team with 20+ players on the roster owned by the inactive owner who hadn't boosted for 19 days. In every case, this is for the reasons outlined above. My DBs have comparatively good stats (I asked lots of others about their CB builds) but QBs (even ones who haven't boosted for 19 days) consistently throw completions into dbl and even triple coverage and/or my CBs are 5 or 6 yards away from the play having continued to just run the vector they were on, even after the ball behind them was caught, as if they had no idea that a pass had been thrown.
I've been discussing this in team forums and the like, and the conclusion we have come to is that Man Awareness is not so much a wasted stat as an over-invested one. You could argue that it can't do that much, it's too cheap to be a critical skill. I reckon it works as Xavori outlined it above (he was the one who first pointed this Man Awareness idea out to me, watching film backs it categorically). So, what we're looking to try is to pump up the ball hawk skills (deflecting and intercepting). Maybe these are what gets the CB into a position to make the play (along with Quickness, Footwork, Coverage Tech and Sprinting) instead of hurtling down-field after an invisible rabbit.
Still not sure how Vert fits into this scenario (if at all) and I'm hearing very contradictory thoughts being bandied around BHall says his CBs have 45-50 Vert, but there's nothing remarkable about his CBs' productivity that makes me think that it's the secret ingredient. Many voices are saying it's over-rated - but I don't know. However, if the CB is 6 yds away, it doesn't matter how high he can jump does it?
