t-6. Chelsea Cardinals (8-4) [2]
t-6. Rockaway Knights (8-4) [2]
8. Helsinki Hammers (7-5) [3]
===================================
9. Munich Maulers (6-6) [6]

Cali, I have a serious mancrush on you from all the great forum posts, but it seems like Chelsea slipping is the only way we can make the playoffs given the remaining schedules of everyone. You guys have it BRUTAL your last 4 games while we have 3 cupcakes and 1 tough game.

You're right. We have some big time competition our last few games. The four remaining teams on our schedule have a combined record of 42-6. If we can win two of those games, we're definitely in though. I think we can do it, but it starts tomorrow against Camelot, a team that we match up virtually even with.

Winning 3 of your last 4 would certainly help us =)

Good luck!!

That is waht the start of our season looked like. I feel your pain.

Hah.. that's because all the teams I'm playing are at the top of the standings.

what are the chances of the invaders being in the playoffs?

Not likely. You pretty much have to win out and hope some people lose to get you in.

Sorry to disappoint the Maulers, but... no wait, I'm not sorry.

A HUGE win for us today. I was sweating bullets in the first half when it looked like neither defense was going to be able to stop those offenses, and my kicker missed a field goal (truthfully thought that was going to be the game-deciding play for awhile).

The end of our schedule is murderous. Camelot was 10-2 and in third place coming in to today. Plus, we had Rockaway and Rome before that. It only gets tougher.. This is our remaining schedule:

Ironton Tanks (11-2, 2nd place Zeta)
Italian Stallions (13-0, 1st place Zeta)
Liverpool Scousers (11-2, 2nd place Alpha)

If we can manage one more win, I think we have a shot at the #4 or at least #5 spot heading into the playoffs.

Yeah, our hopes are very dim, but there's still a tiny bit of light. Today was a MUST win though and we couldn't even beat a 3-9 team. Something odd is going on though :

Last week, Camelot barely beat Eindhoven Breakers
This week, you guys handle Camelot prettye easily

I wonder if someone gutted their roster or something? They were killing teams all year.

Also, something has happened to the Eindhoven Breakers. They were trash for a while but then they did us pretty dirty.

My team is really hurting because of some bad GM's that we had. They took a lot of our good players and put them onto other teams of theirs and no one noticed them doing it. I just finished rebuilding the team yesterday to make a run, but our chemistry is trash. I think people underestimate how much chemistry affects things.

Best of luck in the playoffs Cali, and if you're ever looking for players to join your team next season, drop me a message as I have some up and coming builds and would love to have an owner like yourself.

Great job on all this Cali and grats on moving up into the playoff drivers seat. A couple corrections though. Knights own tie breaker over Bulls and play the Hammers on the 10th.

You make far less errors than I would if I tried to do this.

There have been some definite shockers the past few games. The past 5 games (Kings, Bulls, Cardinals, Tanks, and Stallions) have been tough on the Knights. Hopefully we can get some wins in the next 3 to set us right for the playoffs.

I didn't say that you didn't hold it over the bulls.. just didn't include it.. There's a lot of craziness in that part of the standings should there be ties at the end of the season. You're in same boat as us. Win and you're in. A loss by the Maulers and you're in too. We lost to the Maulers earlier in the season so despite a game ahead in standings we still need same number to stave off Munich.

If it comes down to some 3-way ties, this is the current points scored totals for the teams still in it in Zeta

Italian Stallions = 722
Brighton Bears = 363
Ironton Tanks = 482
Camelot Kings = 496
Rome Bulls = 434
Chelsea Cardinals = 434
Helsinki Hammers = 401
Rockaway Knights = 284
Munich Maulers = 268

Some upheaval in the last few games all over, but that's a big product of teams maturing late in the season I think. The Cardinals are certainly much better now than we were at the mid-way point in the season, particularly when you look at our passing numbers.

Guess I didnt make my point very good, meant we have tie breaker over Bulls and not the Hammers...least not yet.

A loss by the Maulers and the whole Zeta playoff is clinched right? Didnt you say that the Magic number is wins or losses by lower ranked teams? Not much on baseball so still trying to grasp this.

yeah.. if maulers lose.. playoffs are set, and it's only jockeying for positioning

You don't have to finish in front of the Hammers to make the playoffs.. this isn't anything to do with seeding, just if you're in or out.

My opinion on Eindhoven is that the owner and gm's are really learning how to gameplan now. Look at their roster, it's not bad and certainly better in comparison to the rest of the league than you'd expect by their record. A team that's improved, just as we have. I'm nervous but anxious to see how we do against the top of the conference in the next two.

With Ironton, I have to look at their games and figure out how to score points on them. With the Stallions, I think it's doable, but probably going to take some luck to have a shot at it. The Scousers scare the shit out of me. They're playing very well, and we have no common competition so I feel like I'm half-blind trying to get ready for them.
